    I’ve been doing bricklaying for 5 years now. Wish I could have been taught by a older like you. I’ve Learnt most stuff of RUclipsrs

    Bud proper old school I learned like this but have moved on to profile and trench block. But you have made my month keep it up pall god bless you

    When I started, it was all LBC (commons) in the footings, and
    galvanised fish tale ties, oh , and
    9inch solid concrete solid blocks,
    Happy days 🤣🤣.
    Due to retire December ,reached the
    magic 66, going part time, would probably seize up if I stopped.

      Those galvanised fish ties are nasty, I’ve my head on them a few times 🤦‍♂️, 9 inch concrete blocks are gut busters, enjoy retirement, I think you have to do something though , and I don’t working fit notes , I’ve heard vicious rumours that this can happen when you retire 😂😂, cheers for watching 👍👍

    How come you do it all in bricks? Could you not of used block or trench to get you to ground level?

      @@BuildingwithBudd Hi boss. Good thanks. As an engineer i found that method fascinating and so simple. People think bricklaying is just a matter of sticking one on top of another. How wrong are they! 👍👍

      Before I build any corners , I set up profiles as to where the building will sit, I then use those as my guide for digging out the footings and for the brickwork as well, hope that answers your question, on the video that’s the line I am levelling down from, many thanks for watching 🧱🧱

      Footings we’re really deep so split the difference, but it’s not all bad gave the camera man a chance to get on the trowel without doing any damage, cheers for watching 👍👍🧱

      Not on these ones, to be fair in forty years never been asked to use engineering bricks below DPC , must be a regional thing, we are in deepest darkest Norfolk 😂😂👍

    Worked in the building trade for 50 years never put facings bricks off a slab surprised nhbc passed this,this will not be allowed on a large site

    Why not use trench blocks or build two skins using concrete blockwork below ground or are you really old school coming out of ground with brickwork although bricks might be lighter when your getting on a bit

      I’m just sick of lugging blocks around in footings, I just find it easier to do it this way, just a personal thing, when on out on a job anywhere and someone wants to pay to do it in block work then I will, appreciate you watching, 👍👊🧱

      I don’t tape out at that point because bricks very so much in size , I rather lay them out, guess I’m just stuck in my ways, but it works for me, appreciate you watching and comments 👍👍

      It’s only in the last few years that trench blocks turned, that’s the future I get that, we always used to use concrete 4 inch blocks, I just don’t want to lift them anymore 👍👍🧱

    You don’t need lasers unless it’s a bigger area to be honest reverse levelling is accurate.
    Any discrepancy when reverse levelling with straightedge or not cancels it out.
    Just like the old water level you could use with a profile the first corner you built use that and move water level to each corner and mark including existing walls.

      Best place for LBC s are in a crusher for hardcore

    Bricklayer should be getting $10 a brick every one else is making hundreds of thousands of dollars and the poor brick layer laying for free to work like a ffff slave. Every stop laying bricks then U can ask what U like but no they keep working for free 80 cents a brick is for free

    The bricks are upside down !!! Mad its block in footing or bring it up with concrete is faster cheaper . What about engineering brick under dam course... but bricks are upside down unbelievable...

    Why don't you just set up profiles much easier then setting up corners like that and where is your brick force mate
