    Highly recommend not only safety glasses but also a safety mask, as said in the manual, because within 10 seconds I had 2 branches whipping me in the face (happy I had my safety mask on).

    Thanks for your informative video. I skimmed through three others before finding a review that actually clearly showed the shredded material and your other comments such a endurance, machine heat etc were so helpful.

    Its the most powerful unit before your into petrol....I have had one for 5 years and never missed a beat.You have to be mindful on adjusting the blade with the side wheel...Once your used to that you can do it by ear...A great machine.

    Thanks for the video, this and the comments below convinced me getting one, especially for half the price on staff sale. Done dealing with weeks long of disposals to rubbish bin.

    I need this in my life. I just trimmed a tree recently and spent about 2 hours cutting down the branches with side cutters and a saw so that I could compact it into the bin. With something like this I could get the job done in about 30 minutes or less. Something to purchase at my next Bunnings visit.

    • @sylviam6535
      @sylviam6535 8 месяцев назад

      People cut down trees, then do a lot more work cutting into smaller pieces and pay someone to take it away in a bin. Then they pay again to buy mulch. With this you just mulch it and put it straight in your garden beds.

    Good review, I won't use the bucket, make a prong for the safety switch and mulch in situ.

    Hey Tim, perhaps try closing the cutter gap to 1/8th inch, looks to be a bit wide when looking down to the blade, good review, regards from N.Z

      Will try next time. I guess that will make the mulch smaller? I thought it was only for sharpening the blades.

    I have a similar ozito one and it is still going strong after 5 years. This type of mulcher is not good on some plants while green. For example mulberry,hibiscus, panama Berry, these will clog the mechanism up
    Just let them dry for a week then mulch.👍

    • @mytropicalfruitforestlife
      @mytropicalfruitforestlife  2 года назад

      I've put all sorts of fresh clippings through it and haven't found it clogging at all. It has a sharpening mechanism where you turn a knob and it sharpens the blades. Maybe if they get blunt it'll clog, but so far so good.

    How long was your extension cord? In the trouble shooting section of the manual/website, ryobi warns against using too long a cord, so I’m wondering if thats why mine has stopped working - start light just flickers but it won’t start 😢 pity ‘cos it’s been a great little unit up to now.

    • @mytropicalfruitforestlife
      @mytropicalfruitforestlife  2 месяца назад +1

      10m. Check your warranty, doesn't sound like an extension cord issue to me?

    Would be nice if you could update your video with a full model number. As I see ryoby has 3 models RSH2445T RSH2445B and RSH2445S they all can use different way of mulching. Sorry in the first second it is visible your model is RSH2445S.

    The bucket issues could be resolved by just removing it, especially as you were mulching it right where u dumped it anyways

    • @mytropicalfruitforestlife

      No can do. It has prongs that need to be clicked in, otherwise motor wont work.

      Remove the toggle switch where the bucket lip engages the safety stop feature 👍. You can use a larger bucket with the stop feature disengaged.

    Worst shredder you can buy... AVOID!!!! Such a pitty... I actually liked all Ryobi products until using this unit. Total time to failure 30 minutes... plastic crap. Unlikely to mulch a pre-sliced bread roll.
