I own this as well as the original. I pick up lots of lavender in 45, and it smells much more complete compared to the original. Smells like pure luxury ! I’m happy with my purchase.

Reflection 45 is not much better than the original. I was thoroughly underwhelmed
I just received a sample of this one. It's nice and I do pick up on some of the additional woods and resins, but I really don't think the performance is worth the price. I generally like that extraits project less, but this is a skin scent by hour 3 for me. Interlude man, Honour woman and Epic woman extraits were still projecting after 8 hours. I would sample this version of Reflection and make sure the performance meets your personal expectations.
I went through two bottles of the original Reflection Man. Going to have to try R45. Anything Amouage puts out I have to try. Definitely my favorite house.

When Amouage changed the caps to magnetic, they diluted all their current fragrances, some not much, but some by a lot. I still have vintage non-magnetic cap 09' Reflection Man , and compared to the current formulation it's WAY stronger, and fuller. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling the new Reflection 45 is the vintage Reflection, tweaked a bit , with fancier bottle , and much higher price tag
They changed a bottle now again, and diluted all fragrances as well. Don't buy modern bottles with a name in the front
its not, Reflection 45 is way too denser and heavier even then the older nonmagnetic Reflection.
It kinda strays too much from the original DNA...
So kind of a miss

My guess is your older bottle maceration kicked in and your confusing that for why the newer seems weeker.
Any scent I've kept over a year naturally gets stronger.
That 45 is a beast compared to the original. Great projection and long lasting.
As someone who doesn't like the original. The Reflection 45 sounds like my cup of tea.

I came close of buying the 45 reflections. It was pricey. $560. I’ve decided to get parfum de Marley ( greenley) instead.
Greenley is a stunning fragrance. Found it a few months ago and wanted it ever since. Super fresh.

Great video and explanation, I've tried the original and really enjoyed it, I was thinking that the more concentrated formulation would be more of a boosted version of the original... I know it's not as simple as that! I think I may just go with the original!
More concentration = more longevity, less projection. That's a general rule of thumb.
Truly regardless of longevity I feel you cant go wrong with the original. OG is better imo
Original gave me great performance. Especially when my body temp was up
I would NOT describe RM 45 as being rough. It is super smooth and NOT dirty at all.
I love Reflection Man, probably my favorite from the house. Waiting on my sample for this one. I think the pricing is ridiculous. I also have Dapper’s clone of Reflection and it’s pretty good, way better performance than the original.

@@Roccofan it is definitely a more dense version that lasts longer, but it didn’t out project the original. Not worth the upgrade unless it’s your favorite scent.

It is ridiculous but you never pay full price.. I bought a bottle from ESCENTUAL with a discount code £80 cheaper. Trust me use a code to get it cheaper and you won't regret it. Its a monster!
hmm, i have an opportunity get the 45 at a great price but it would be a blind buy. I love the original Reflection because of its brighter summer vibe.

glad i got a sample of this and didnt blind buy it,this is the first time i tried an amouage fragrance and i do like it...but not enough to spend that kind of money,does smell great but the performance atleast on my skin is not the greatest.
Have you read "Revelations in Air: A Guidebook to Smell?" It just came out a few weeks ago. The author is Jude Stewart. Surprisingly addictive -- even for the non-fragrance obsessed.
I was very happy to see your full review on Reflection 45 Man. Based on Fragrantica reviews, I assumed that 45 would run closer to the original, but it would seem that it is quite distinct to your nose.
I am still interested in trying 45, but I am not sure if the amber/resin notes will make 45 just as suitable to warm weather as the original.
The price is ridiculous, but I figure the bottle should last longer given the concentration....
I still need to explore Amouage, sounds wonderful

Got some samples this week. To me, Reflection 45 is really similar to Dyptique Tempo.
Disappointed of the performance of reflection really sad, the scent smells wonderful definitely a niche smelling but the longevity is a disaster, i got it with 135 $ so it’s kinda fair deal.

Interesting love reflection man a lot but yeah need spray like 6 times or more to last maybe these with 3 spray or 2 and 3 of the other mixing up will be a good play
I see a lot of reviews stating that reflection man 45 smells like the the early batches of reflection man. Can you chime in on this?
Yea they screwed us over with this release. I wasted $500 on this shit. This fragrance sits very close to the skin but i do pick it up throughout the day. Im hoping that it will be stronger as it ages.
Extraits aren't meant to project. So no matter what brand you buy and extrait will not project as much as the EDP counterpart. This is due to the alcohol content in the bottle. More alcohol = more projection.

Two sprays from my decant, and Reflection 45 took over my wool Pendleton sweater for a week and a half. Enough to be noticeable by my girlfriend every time I put it on. Wonderful experience. Certainly denser, richer, and more balsamic and ambery compared to the more floral original.
It's quite intense.

Why couldn't they have just given people Reflection Man that once was before it got tinkered with and watered down? Amouage is so over-hyped and over-priced, IMO.

With the price on these concentrates, I just wish Amouage makes them more widely available in 50ml bottles. You really don't want a 100ml of such beasts as you may not be able to finish it in your lifetime. 😂

Tried at the Heathrow airport a week ago Very ambery to me. But it had Amouage DNA for sure. 45% that I am not sure 🤔. It was not strong enough for 45%. I got the lyric man recently 2020 version completely watered down. Very disappointing Amouage nowadays. I do not think I will purchase any more Amouage Fragrances, watered down and over priced. I miss old school Amouage

On Basenotes, there was an employee of Amouage who revealed a lot of information. I copied it all down. If you all want it; let me know. Be warned, it's a lot, but it's in depth and original, no way could this person have made this up.

Reformulations: overall, there was one big reformulation in 2013 of several Amouage fragrances driven by IFRA and the European Cosmetics regulations (just before the change to magnetic caps which is why both are often associated). Since then, a few minor adjustments on some fragrances but nothing as significant as 2013. Reflection Man was reformulated in 2013.
I have asked to smell side by side the old and new formulas freshly mixed (to allow for fair comparison) and there is indeed a minor difference in the character (the new formula feels slightly less floral and powdery/dusty than the older one). The 2013 formula feels slightly woodier. No reformulation since 2013 - however, there is a new regulation applicable in May 2022 (IFRA 49) that will require a new formula of Reflection man (and will, in general, impact a lot of fragrances on the market).
We are not fully done yet but it is getting there (keeping in mind that we are talking about minor changes that are sometimes difficult to spot through triangulation by trained fragrance evaluators). And it clearly means investing more on the concentrate as we need to replace relatively affordable but performing synthetics with a mix of naturals and synthetics that will bring the original character without sacrificing the performance. Which brings me to point 2
