Hi Sig, you are absolutely correct about the lessened blade feel over the Standard plate. Carbon, do the opposite of most razor manufacturers who increase blade exposure as they increase blade gap. Carbon reduce blade exposure as the gap increases. I have both the + and the ++ plates and there is more blade forward on the + plate which, for me, delivers a more efficient shave than the ++ although, to be fair the ++ is the marginally smoother of the two.
Hi, Proraso wood and spice is one of my first creams and favourite scents still. My wife got me a lovely straight razor shave at my local barbershop for Father’s Day a year or so ago. I picked the cream by pure chance and loved it since then. In fact it was the soap and experience that really got me into wet shaving. The aftershave is amazing and is one of the few that lasts a full day and is incredibly strong and long lasting. I’m an absolute fan and it’s one of the few I will automatically return to and buy when it runs out.

Great shave. I’ve looked at this Proraso scent but don’t have it. I love the look of the Carbon but I have not tried in yet. A bit on the higher price end for me. One day I hope to get one. I think I sound be a minus plate guy.

Nice shave! I doubt if ever try a carbon… way too pricey for my budget and I’m not convinced I’d like it more than the Karve since I’m not a fan of blade feel. Sharp looking though. Have a good one my man.

@@SIGSOLO you’re welcome!! And the funny thing with a straight or shavette is…. You don’t really feel the blade on the skin… it’s a super smooth feeling experience of steel sliding through the whiskers, not a harsh raspy feeling of a DE razor with lots of blade feel

Did see the Carbon, but its too pricey for my budget 😅✌️ its allright, I am searching a single edge razor that is mild/medium and not pricey and that has a smaller head so you can get the mustache under the nose and it should use a half of a de razorblade 😁
