Joe, there's a RUclips hunter that hit a Nilgai clean broadside with a bolt action Barrett 50 cal 700 grain bullet and the animal jumped and started running like it wasn't even hurt for like 40 meters before it stumbled and dropped. The hunter was stunned at how tough Nilgai are.

Went hunting at King Ranch recently, shocked seeing how different the lungs and heart are positioned when the guide showed a picture of one all cut up to me. Shot it with my 300 right in the neck and dropped it.

Its the pride of Brownsville Tx...no limit, no season...shoot it directly on the shoulder bc the heart is a bit further back than a deer, for example. So the heart sits in between the shoulders ...great meat

Brownsvilles my hometown but I left at a young age. Last year my cousin ran one of these over and I had no clue wtf it was lol thought it was some weird mutant animal
