@@lazykatie42069it’s funnier because she’s actually a good unit but Pavise has been gaslighted into thinking she’s bad and the more he doesn’t use her the worse she becomes as she falls further and further behind. I stand by that if we got a ch9 or ch10 Kana she wouldn’t be benched because her level would be much more on curve. Alas now I must kill as many units as possible to get Kana deployed.
@@Pablo_Martin_aa okay so Vivi really wanted to get Kana by chapter 10 bc Vivi is a big Kana fan, and was trying to get Joe and Felicia to S support as quickly as possible bc it's the fastest way to get Kana since Felicia joins early and has a fast support with Joe, this led Vivi to do things like try and throw over Joe and Felicia not building support points fast enough or trying to get Felicia as close to Joe and Niles as far from Joe bc a lot of chat shipped Joe x Niles (or Jiles, for short) and wanted them to get to S support and at the time we weren't sure if Pav would save edit or use the paralogue unlocker mod to ensure we could still get Kana and Nina in event of Jiles marriage. In the end Joe and Niles ended up marrying anyway and Pav did in fact use the paralogue unlocker mod so we could get their kids still, but Kana ended up benched regardless bc Kana isn't that good, and ngl I think even if we had gotten an earlier Kana recruitment I think they would still be sitting on the bench rn.
@@Pablo_Martin_aa Me and a few people I managed to convince wanted to push for an early Felicia pairing to get a really good Kana that would help out tons with the hell of chapter 10 (those will be some fun highlights). We only needed 1 or 2 support points this map to stay on pace, hence the attempts to throw the run that Guru twisted last stream. The other faction de-facto led by LazyKatie wanted Niles to pair with Joe for the funny gay pairing, further egged on by vague allusions by Pavise that he might hack in the kids if the pairing happens (later he’d look into it and it would eventually happen). This tension really reached its pinnacle in this chapter, and then by sheer chance someone outside of this war who just wanted to save Elise gambled Felicia’s life and we lost the bet. The embers of this drama would carry on until about Ch10 where more important Ch10 things took the reins and Pavise eventually committed in writing that he would hack the kids in. However, in a sheer statistical anomaly Kana’s first couple levels were pretty bad and thus chat managed to gaslight Pavise into thinking Kana is bad because they wanted to deploy more generics, (in large part because these people didn’t actually watch excel-emblem play with generic units for dpzens hours on stream like I did where the gag ran its course and eventually died out and instead just watched the very very funny recaps and in part because generics are inherently ripe with comedy potential). Thus I relapsed into my villainous ways, and began doing everything in my power to cause mass casualties so Kana would actually get deployed. As always I’m very public about my intentions and very good at throwing great runs into the dumpster and thus I have once again made lots of enemies and incidentally made enough enemies that kana will probably die if she ever gets deployed, but I’m a person of principle and a notably different sense of humor so I’m gonna keep killing all the units anyway! Some of this will doubtless make it into recaps but the streams are where the real drama happens! It’s immersive storytelling and I love it! It’s all in good fun and many of us are actually quite good friends despite our opposing goals in YTPFE.
Scarf really popped off with the intro! What a chapter end. Losing Felicia hurt a lot but I can't say I'm not glad we ended up capturing Haitaka. He's been a great asset.

No it was not in vain, but the late kana recruitment resulted in the insane decision to bench the 3rd best growth unit in fates because we are allergic to growth units here, only bases (which does make a twisted sort of sense given the average casualty count). Still chaos is the name of the game and to get what you want you gotta kill every unit that stands in your way, consequences be damned.
@@lazykatie42069 because Corrin is an OP god of a growth unit such that even a usually worse sidegrade to Corrin is still insane. You just don’t notice Corrin’s crippling bases so much because they get to eat the entirety of pre route unless you are crazy.
@@lazykatie42069 ch 12 is barely late your right. A turbo recruitment would be after ch 8 (requires Felicia/Jacob) and the other turbo recruitments are after ch 9. A more reasonable recruitment time would be after ch9 for Felicia/Jacob or after ch 10 for other early game pairings. A fast recruitment would be after ch10 or after ch11. These thresholds are important as they noticeably decrease Kana’s base level to 10 where Kana like all gen 2 units gets better inheritance bonuses to base because the formula is weird. Corrin gives far and away the best stat inheritance of any unit besides Camilla and Kana always gets to reap this benefit when recruited early. This means the typical Kana most players (including YTPFE) is about a +1 to all stats worse than the Kana anyone can get with moderate effort. Along with Kana’s +1 caps it allows them to hit thresholds no one else besides a specialized Corrin or Camilla can reasonably in the mid game. Of course like all balanced growth units Kana is badly prone to screw but also an excellent hyper carry. This is hampered by the fact that Kana is only Conquests 5th best hyper carry. Hence Kana’s negative reputation in contrast to her performance. I don’t think I have to explain while availability to get exp is important for a sidegrade to the best growth unit in the game. The late kana with Camilla mom some LTCs use isn’t recruited until the 20s but that’s neither here nor there and I’m no LTC expert.
