We probably have about 100 different bricks already were always picking them up. Not seen no welsh ones yet are brickmakers names in English or welsh down there id love a Welsh brick tbh.
Oh and by the way, defo on the right tracks where you were diggin, its somewhere in that hollow you were in. If you click LIDAR on NLS you can see the hollow and what looks like where water has at some point drained into the stream
We are defo within a few feet if were not stood on it😁get up with some picks and spades very soon. Im hoping for a nice round shaft like the last one we dug out🐒🐒🐒💙
@@ExploreNorthernMonkeys do you know how deep the shaft is supposed to be? (Hopefully a shallow one). I do know of examples of 'air shafts' that are marked on old maps as an air shaft but are actually adits or if you wana call em 'air adits'.....so you never know.
Is there anyting left of Hill Top Colliery ? I went looking for it one evening when I was working in Horwich in 2002 but it seemed abandoned and the drift entrance was blocked.

@@ExploreNorthernMonkeys Is Hill Top still owned by Billy Clayton junior?
Get mining lads 😁
What would you do if the cow was a bull and chased Bruce for 10 miles breathing down his neck.
Seems strange seeing brick arching, so used to stone arching up here.
The stone arches are in a lot less of our mines most are red brick or in some cases red brick and stone together 😁💙
