Thanks so much man. Haven't even tackled my leaking pump yet but this video has gave me the confidence to do it instead of buying a new pump. Thanks man and great video!!
Thanks for the video... I have the same type pump (minus the reservoir tank) in my wife's 97 Mazda Protege DX (1.5 L ). The pump was leaking really bad so I purchase a seal kit, dis-assembled the pump and replaced all the o-rings. All is good... until you bolt the back plate on with (4) 12 mm bolts. As long as you leave them "finger-tight" the pump pulley spins. It is a little "tight" but will spin. Once you tighten down those (4) bolts... the pulley is LOCKED in place... NO movement at all. After re-doing the assembly a dozen times (even used the old back plate gasket as the front seal was the culprit) with the same results. This is a KYB pump, Model # 7304 9-1. Any ideas on what I screwed up?? I noticed you used ATF fluid to lube the internals... I used power steering fluid. Can any type of "lube" work?? Again... thanks for the video.
Did anyone else have a smaller spring and bearing fall out of the control valve??? Diagram doesn't show a secondary spring inside the main spring, please help!

Another great video to help all the mazdaspeed DIYers!
I just ordered the kit and rebuilt the pump in my Mazda 6 and was shocked that the front seal is absolutely pouring power steering fluid now
Good job bro 👍

Dear, is there a beering in side around a culmen??
Hi IMR, quick Q, can you tell me what the wire connection on top of that power steering pump is for? Is it a ground? Or a sensor of some sort?
There were no bearings in the pump?
Called Mazda dealership said there wasn’t a kit. Do you have a part number.
GJ6A32610 hope this helps
Hello, Quick q, in the reservoir there is a cap cover within, how were you able to remove it?
So, what's the TQ spec for the 4 bolts?
Where can you get replacement seals for the vane rotor(fins)? Do you have a part number?
