The scene where Baije heals Wukong was after the fight with Red Child. Red Child has the strongest fire in the world, Samdhi Fire. This fire was also what the Daoist God used to burn Wukong, which didn't kill him but made his eyes extremely vulnerable to the smoke. When fighting with Red Child, RC used the 5 elements formation to create Samdhi Fire, Wukong struggled with the smoke so much he has to jump in a lake to escape. This is the time Wukong is closest to death since he crossed his name off the Death Note. Bajie is showed to heal him with his spell here, although in the novel it is more Bajie gave Wukong a massage lol.
if i recall correctly the turtle scene is when guanyin pointed out that they needed to endure 1 more trial so she forced them to cross the lake/ocean (cant recall which it is). then they asked the turtle for a ride. the turtle had asked them to inquire with buddha about when he would begin his next life since had waited for a thousand years already. when they forgot he angrily threw them into the water.
the 6 ears macake is an alagory for the duality of the human mind, specificly the duality of Wukong mind. Wukong is the alagory of the human mind, and the macake is the alagory of the dark impulse that exist in the human mind. when Wukong killed the macake, he basically killed a part of himself, while it make him more melo and less violence, it also make him no longer whole. its an alagory of the human mind struggling between their nature and discipline.
the turtle helped the group cross the sea in request that they refer him to budda but they forgot to do that and so the turtle flipped his back sinking the scriptures and the group.
Baje saved Wukong when he almost got killed by the Samadi Fire of Red Boy. Wukong got caught in the fire while fighting Red Boy because he was distracted and didnt dodge the attack. Wukoong is normally immune to fire of all kind including hevenly fire, but the samadi fire is a special fire only available to Red Boy and his kind, which are extreamly rare, thuse that is one rare ocation where Bajie was actualy saved Wukong
6:42 The horse did not become a snake like creature. The horse itself was always a dragon, like many dragons (loong) we see in game. He is the nephew of the East Sea dragon king.
17:05 Almsbowl is the bowl that Buddhist monks present to the public for almsgiving. It is a kind of charity similar to church collection box. The act of almsgiving to monks represents offering to Buddha. Food, money, anything you want to give. Monks lead humble lives and do not ask for much. The act of almsgiving is accumulating merits and good deeds for the giver.
36:40 Book of Life and Death records names of all living beings and when they will die. This is why they say "If your number is up, you will go. If not, nothing can kill you". The Judge of Hell has this absolute power to determine when a person dies. In case of Wukong, he literately made it so that Wukong would die right there and then. His minions reeled Wukong's soul in. Little did they know, they were no match for Wukong. Wukong beat everyone up, tore up the pages of the book, and went back to Earth.
36:12 It is Erlang Shen, Wukong, and Nezha. Nezha is not in the game, but in the animation. He always appears as a 10 year old kid, with silk ribbon to tie up Bull King, and his sword to behead him. Technically, Redboy is also the rebel. He is the final boss of chapter 5.
@Jabu 8:30 I watched the 1986 JTTW show so I can remember the scene similar to this where they got the scriptures and tried to ride the turtle but got crashed by the waves and the all scriptures floating around.
as for the rooster, dog, and candle the reason the jade emperor punished them is the ruler of the land proclaimed that it was not by the gods kindness that they had a bountiful harvest but rather because of him.
@@malvarado9912 based on the jade emperor forgiving the ruler after he bowed, i guessed that it had something to do with faith towards the celestial court but i couldnt find much to confirm it. Thanks for the clarification
@@All-Purpose-Bait To finish my comment (got busy so didn't do it in the first go) The ruler of the area made it so nobody gave offerings to the gods. Wukong and company arrive in the city where pigsy immediately says he can transform into the dog and chicken to devour the food and will easily break the lock with his rake. monkey stops him, and says he figured out the jade emperors angle. The people and ruler then repent, upon which point a downpour of rain ensues. Then a guard comes announcing that the chicken has eaten the rice, the dog has lapped up the flour, and the clasp has broken.
so the competitions are a great arc. Wukong, pigsy, and sandy sneak into the daoist abbey and after eavesdropping on their offering ceremony. they sneak in after they leave and eat the offerings. Having been nearly caught by a nearby monk they quickly transform into the statues of the deities nearby. The monk there believes the gods came and ate the offering so wukong being a funny man pretends to be the god. They ask him for divine peach wine since it makes them immortal. Wukong knowing there is none, since he ate all those peacher years ago, comes up with an excuse that he doesnt have any right now. they keep being insistant so he asks them to leave the room. at which point him, sandy, and pigsy all pee in it. The monks AND the immortals drink from it. One thing leads to another and the competition takes place. First they say whoever makes it rain will be victorious. So the tiger rings a gong 5 times. with every strike he states he will sumon 1 more spirit, wind, rain, clouds, and thunder. Wukong decided to fly up and tells them dont you dare answer his call, the dragons obey him. then he tells tripitaka to pray. once he prays wukong orders them to do it. then they unleash a biblical flood. The next challenge is who can make a dragon appear. The tiger fails, and wukong manages to make all 4 dragons appear. then we enter the fun part. they then have a foresight challenge. the king places items into a box and predicts what's in it wukong yhen cheats. Challenge 1 is to survive beheading. wukong gets beheaded, then commands his head to return but the deer immortal stops it, in response wukong grows a new head. to get even when its the tigers turn he makes a clone, transforms it into a dog and steals the head. the second challenge is a meditation off. wukong hands it off to tripitaka and i believe the deer takes him on. the immortals send a bug to bother tripitaka. wukong kills it and then does something similar to deer
Wukong didn't fly out of Buddha's hand he did one somersault (since he can travel up to like 108,000 li or 36,000 miles? in one somersault). Goes to show how arrogant Wukong thinking this was easy
21:43 this their first encounter with red boy. Sun Wukong got horribly injured due to the samadhi flame which is the only fire that can actually hurt him
Bro i feel like you google searched the images, and stopped if it wasnt the first result... The chapter that has thw tiger getting his head cut off is one of the funniest. He competes with the three yai gaui and each competition is funny. The scene with the tiger head os thwm competing there immortality. Wukong got his head cut off and then grew a new one. The Buddhahood isn't bestowed / removable by anyone else, not even by Buddha himself. It's a state an ascetic reaches. Their nirvana. That's the biggest clue you'll get that the journey is a sham.

Beji really said “ hey bro its just smoke you can't die stop being a bitxh”
water and rain are useless against samdhi fire.
guan yin vanquished the still-burning Samadhi fire with the sea-full of water in her vase of purity

The finale cinematic is *chef kiss* one of the best animations I've seen. I wish animation studios would that type of art style.

Funny because I only recognize all these scenes because of Overly Sarcastic Production.

i'm fairly certain that scene you were uncertain about was piggsy healing monkey after his fight with red boy

I think the development company says that almost every locale in the game is real to some degree.
Moshi moshi, boku Jabu desu
If you’re looking for lore on the turtle general I think it’s name is Xuanwu
31:57 he actually somersaulted lol which is even crazier
The cloud is called a somersault cloud
As someone whose understand Sanskrit I am very surprised by how many names of places and people are coming from Sankrist and not Madarian
Macaque. The E is silent
So its macock ?
36:12 all three chra are rebellious somehow
They need to make black myth three kindom. It would be better than dynasty warriors.
