I just wanted to say, when you said you think gloves make a difference I fully agree. I let the gloves do the work of gripping the wheel, when I run without gloves my hands start to hurt and cramp because I wind up using fingers more to grip, not to mention the friction when I let the wheel float in my hands. Gloves allow me to maintain a light touch.
Awesome video Haugen!!! Quick question: If you were a chase driver in Formula Drift (or any professional drift competition), and the lead driver were to swing wide and miss one of the clipping points, would you have a higher chance at winning if you also missed the clipping point by following the lead drivers line while still keeping proper proximity from the lead driver, or would you have a better chance if you took the correct line while having to sacrifice your proximity with the lead driver and falling back a little bit?
You would have the advantage following but missing the clipping. In formula drift or any drift comp lead driver is the bigger one so if you make mistakes in lead but not chase it’s bad but chase and not lead it’s ok. So you have the advantage

well, t300 is not fast enough for some very snappy transitions, and having realistic self-steer is crucial for consistency. there is no such thing as "throwing the wheel" in comps. every logitech guy who competes also uses less then 900 degrees.

Depending on setup it can require a double pull to get it to lock up. Also if it’s an extended handbrake you want to modulate so you don’t flat spot the tires.
when it comes to comp I think Hynez and Victor are really good. Content creators I think Evl Rabbit and Ctoretto are the best with Rabbit being more of a comp drifter.
10000% why "competitive drifting" is toxic for me, drifting is an art and like any art is about expression, and when people are criticized about how they express themselves, it takes the personality out of the art, it makes it bland because youre not doing it the right way when the right way is whatever way you want, thats just me though

So your more precise without shoes on G29 pedals. On ones with more travel I would also recommend shoes. Also in my case I have to use gloves, because I bought a 30 bucks wheel of Amazon, put it on my G29 and the 30 bucks wheel does have not much grip and after 30 seconds you hands sweat so much you have no grip on the wheel. In my case I use a pair of 100%(brand) Mountainbike gloves… yes I am doing sim drifting on a budget…
