Euan Griffiths Yes , as the evacuate button was pressed accidentally instead of silence alarm . When the evacuate button is pressed , the sounders go off and beacons flash .
Euan Griffiths The thing with these sounder base beacons are that you can have them programmed in the following ways . 1) Sounder only. 2) Beacon only. 3) Sounder and Beacon. At present with our building , following the assessment we carried out. There isn’t a lot of background noise during the day , and occupants have no hearing difficulties . So therefore having the sounder only during the day is sufficient for us . During the night , the risk increases as if the fire alarm goes off during the night , we would have to have it loud enough to wake all occupants sleeping . So the volume is increased , along with the beacon being on . When we do a fire drill., we press the evacuate button . That is programmed to both operate the sounders , as well as the beacons .
