Honestly i thinks this is all we are getting 4 new stages, these 3 plus the pre order one. One for each game that shadow was playable, SA2, heroes and 06 and the pre order will likely be shadow the hedgehog. And this is fine 4 stages and a hub world and 1 or 2 bosses

like I said this game is the perfect boost game just because it has a smart way of pleasing the adventure, fans and the boost fans by having gameplay that utilizes the boost, but doesn’t completely oriented itself around it as we’ve seen from gameplay where people just aren’t using the boost it’s kind of like a choose your own play style
This is like saying the perfect adventure game is one with boost level design and philosophy mechanics but maintains the spin dash from the adventure games. The best adventure game isn't one that appeals to boost fans, the best adventure game is one which does the adventure formula the best. In the same way the best boost formula game isn't the best one merely off appealing to adventure fans who don't like the formula to begin with. It's off taking the best of the design philosophy and using it in it's level design.
I just want to mention that interviews back in June confirmed act 2’s, making the known level count at least 4 (likely 6) a whole month before he said that… and if he instead meant there would be more then 3 returning stages/locations we also already knew that since Radical Highway is also back.

You know that thing you were able to do in shadow the hedgehog, when on rails you can spin around to build up momentum, I hope they add that, it would be soo fun to use. It would also make the stages faster where you don’t even need to boost.
I really want to see a stage from Shadow's game. Sky Troops, Digital Circuit, Prison Island, and Lava Shelter would all be really cool to see. But I NEED to see Final Haunt get the generations treatment.

There is definitely more stages Sonic Team worked on this game since 2022 when they finished frontiers, this year they focused on polishing it and since it will be shorter than Sonic Gens its takes like 5 hours to complete Im thinking 2 hours and 25 or 30 mins and we dont want to be spoiled with all of the levels now do we?

"3 Stages" started giving me Episode Shadow DLC from Sonic Forces flashbacks haha. But unlike Forces this is giving me Space Colony ARK so like, I might be able to let that slide this one time given we got bosses confirmed too already. Great video.
There were interviews in June confirming act 2’s (the ark stage from the demo is also labeled as Space Colony Ark act 1). The trailer does give off a “3 stages like episode Shadow”, but we already knew SCA act 1 was 4-6 mins long, on top of bosses and an open zone hub being confirmed. Even assuming act 2’s are only 2 mins long at this video’s release Shadow gens was already about 4 times bigger than Episode Shadow.
They brought back Shadow flying with the bald eagle from Kingdom Valley... That's all I needed to see. In all seriousness, the gameplay looks really fun and the levels look really good in the Hedgehog Engine 2. Looking forward to playing through Shadow Generations. (And finally playing through a variant of Rail Canyon with good rail grinding controls.)
I'm still curious what the boss fight and/or rival fights would be. *Black Doom* & *Mephiles* are obvious for the bosses, as well as *Sonic* for the rival fight. But it would be cool if we could get the *Shadow Androids* , *Emerl* and *maybe* either *Eclipse* or *Infinite*
We know that Biolizard and Black Doom are gonna be bosses but im not sure if Mephiles will be one I really hope so along with Emerl and Sonic but Eclipse is not Cannon so he wont be in the game and Infinte wont be a boss cause Shadow Gens takes place during Sonic Gens and Forces did not happen
Every keeps saying rail canyon is mid, but i honestly disagree i think it fits with the theme of the original stage, high danger high industrialism, little to no leniency, not to mention its entirely possible the song has a drop somewhere through out the level. Most sonic gens songs have drops through out, we prolly just heard the beginning for it.
Come to think of it, The only mainline games to have a playable Shadow are SA2, Heroes, Shadow 05, Sonic 06, and Forces. If they follow the pattern of the original generations, and there is only one environment taken from each game, then Shadow can only have a max of 5 stages, right? And even then, Forces came after Gens story wise, so they may not take anything from that game. Meaning Shadow can only have 4 stages. Wow, I hope I’m wrong about that.
One of the other comments just reminded me that we also have Radical Highway confirmed. So since they took two levels from SA2, there’s a chance they’ll take more than one environment from the other games, meaning it’s at least possible that we’ll get more than 4-5 stages. Thank goodness
I do agree about Bullet Stations music honestly the EDM aspect really takes away from the rock I still like it but less compared to the og, aside from that really liking what’s been showed off so far. I’m thinking that if they do more levels then def Shadow 05, but prob multiple levels from the games, like maybe sky rail, egg fleet, and flame core. Or even implement segments from other stages into a main stage like radical highway in the ark level. I just hope we get a multitude of content in this game at the very least, My main hope is Emerl and Shadow Androids will be a part of the plot like as bosses since they have an impact on Shadows whole story

And when I was a kid I too fell multiple times, but when I discovered the way it very rarelly happened; (it happened in weird parts of the level, where the rails where not at the same level, horizontaly, or in crosscrews)

But yeah, these levels look peak, the more we see the levels, the more I'm slowly becoming confident they might be ready to go and so some remasters for the Adventure games, but we'll have to see as we've only seen a few stages from this. Still exciting possibility though.

At this point I honestly would call it a full fledged game: a new story, new mechanics, new (redone) environments/bosses, open zone hub, and act 2’s; plus at 1:27 of the newest trailer you can see a Sonic Gens challenge/mission stage gate pop into existence on top left and also a tiny Omega on middle left, plus the Japanese website is also teasing a second character (the Sonic side only shows playable characters).
You shouldn’t be too scared about them only showing 3. There is a promo pic that shows what I believe is westopolis and every level has an act 2 which means at least there are 8 levels

Not surprised there are only three stages in Shadow Generations. It's much like Episode Shadow in Sonic Forces. The Shadow part is still just meant to be small side content. The reason why it's not worth the price tag consider how small the improvements are for the Sonic Generations part of the game.
Why would you assume there’s only 3 stages just because they had only shown 3 at the time? A developer (usually) isn’t gonna show everything their game has to offer all at once, and 3+ months until release is more than enough time to show another 1-3 trailers (Nintendo especially like doing this). Obviously no one want’s to overhype themselves and get disappointed, but Episode Shadow was just a free prologue DLC to Forces and reused a lot of it’s content, and while Shadow Gens could be described as a DLC to Sonic Gens we already knew it had it’s own separate story/campaign, stage themes, characters, and mechanics; as well as being the main marketing focus of the package, even having a 3 part mini anime dedicated to it. Sorry for rambling or sounding rude, I completely understand being cautious, but from the first trailer and especially demo impressions it was clear to me that Shadow Generations was nothing like episode Shadow. I probably don’t need to tell you there are 5 zones & 2 bosses now confirmed, but way back in June we had the website confirming an open zone hub, interviews confirming act 2’s, and footage confirming 4-6 min stages: so even back at this video’s release we knew it would be AT LEAST 4 times the length of episode Shadow. I hope the next trailer makes the existence of act 2’s clear so everyone know’s this is closer to a shorter Generations game and not a longer Episode expansion. Again, sorry for this wall of text…

At this point I honestly would call it a full fledged game: a new story, new mechanics, new (redone) environments/bosses, open zone hub, and act 2’s; plus at 1:27 of the newest trailer you can see a Sonic Gens challenge/mission stage gate pop into existence on top left and also a tiny Omega on middle left, plus the Japanese website is also teasing a second character (the Sonic side only shows playable characters).

Not surprised there are only three stages in Shadow Generations. It's much like Episode Shadow in Sonic Forces.
The Shadow part is still just meant to be small side content. The reason why it's not worth the price tag consider how small the improvements are for the Sonic Generations part of the game.

Why would you assume there’s only 3 stages just because they had only shown 3 at the time? A developer (usually) isn’t gonna show everything their game has to offer all at once, and 3+ months until release is more than enough time to show another 1-3 trailers (Nintendo especially like doing this).
Obviously no one want’s to overhype themselves and get disappointed, but Episode Shadow was just a free prologue DLC to Forces and reused a lot of it’s content, and while Shadow Gens could be described as a DLC to Sonic Gens we already knew it had it’s own separate story/campaign, stage themes, characters, and mechanics; as well as being the main marketing focus of the package, even having a 3 part mini anime dedicated to it.
Sorry for rambling or sounding rude, I completely understand being cautious, but from the first trailer and especially demo impressions it was clear to me that Shadow Generations was nothing like episode Shadow. I probably don’t need to tell you there are 5 zones & 2 bosses now confirmed, but way back in June we had the website confirming an open zone hub, interviews confirming act 2’s, and footage confirming 4-6 min stages: so even back at this video’s release we knew it would be AT LEAST 4 times the length of episode Shadow.
I hope the next trailer makes the existence of act 2’s clear so everyone know’s this is closer to a shorter Generations game and not a longer Episode expansion.
