Skillet is a Grammy-nominated Christian hard rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996. The band consists of John Cooper (lead vocalist, bassist), his wife Korey Cooper (rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist), Ben Kasica (lead guitarist), and the newest member Jen Ledger (drummer, vocalist). Skillet has released eight albums, two receiving Grammy nominations: Collide and Comatose. ive been a fan of skillet for a long time and most of the time i try to stay away from stuff that sounds like this, but this is actually really cool
They played a part of this before hero in Columbus ohio it made for a great intro and gives me the chills to this day i love this song!

So, I just noticed this, and I really only have one thing to say.
THere's a difference in questions between why you like music in general and why you like one particular song. Answering why people like music has a whole host of answers that can get borderline metaphysical, but it doesn't require so much work to know why someone likes, say, the Beatles over Justin Bieber.

I just listened to a song from skillet back in 1996, and then I went to this...there isn't the slightest resemblance. This goes to show that skillet doesn't care about stepping out of their comfort zone....and doing one heck of a job of it.

This is just like when linkin park made the reanimation album, they didnt change genre, they just remixed their stuff to reach more people, who dont necessarily like hard rock =D rock on Skillet!!

Music is a drug and there is no real rhyme or reason as to why I personally like music. Music is a lot like love in that there is no answer to it, it just is. I've always wondered myself how the hell I like music. Not to say it isn't good, but what in my mind actually makes me like certain songs and not others. If you can answer that question you will have answered my life long question. "Why do I like music?"
I think out of all of the remixes, Hero is the best. But I do love the whole EP, I'm going to have to buy it sometime soon. :)

@makeadifference26 I agree. Newsboys did, not only one, but 2 remix CDS. I think it's pretty cool when bands do this type of experimenting. I haven't bought the Skillet one yet, but that is what brought me here to see if it's worth getting and pretty much so far, I like it!
Skillet is christian. They started out on a christian label where they produced their self-titled album, Hey you, I love Your Soul, Invincible, Alien Youth and Ardent Worship (which is pure worship music, although I'm not 100% certain that this album was on the same label). Collide was their 5th album and the first to be released on a mainstream label.

Im going to be honest right now. I love skillet. Best band ever, but this is not at all my favorite album. This song is the only one I like. I have no negative feelings against them for trying. They are trying to get their music out to as many people as possible and I applaud that. Just because I dont like some of their songs doesnt mean im a hater

ok so this one is awesome,the Monster remix was epic, they could have done better with Awake and Alive, but Dont Wake Me blew everything away, and this is coming from someone who couldnt stand the original
