The Munitions Factory in Castlevania: Bloodlines is the staple Clock Tower in all but name. Castlevania III also has two clock towers, the second one being "Pressure", used near the end.
Fun Fact: In Curse of Darkness there is an actual real arrangement of Dawn of Sorrow's Cursed Clock Tower, it's called Siblings' Sad Destiny and used for a cutscene.
The Circle of the Moon version of Clockwork was what made me realize how ridiculously good video game music could be, even with the limitations of the GBA's sound.
my personal favorite is clock tower casualty from harmony of dissonance. that game's OST in general is criminally underrated, it has some of the most creative and anxiety-inducing music in the entire series, and its vrc6-esque sound is just (chef's kiss)
Dawn of sorrow's music is pure nostalgia, and you can also perceive the mysticism along with the anime-like touch that Michiru Yamane and IGA printed into it
Every version of Tower of gears is so anxiety inducing and nauseating. Especially, most definetly the chronicles version xD You can just hear how it sounds like a very unpleasant level to be in and I think it's amazing
You, sir, have done a great service to the Castlevania fandom. While I wouldn't really count as a fan of Castlevania games since I've played only 2 (AoS, HoD, will play OoE and DoS soon), I can appreciate the music and the effort that you made to compile all the amazing Clocktower themes. The Clocktower is always one of the most interesting areas in any Castlevania game IMO.
I dunno how a series as old as it is could ever be considered underrated, I mean I guess maybe cause the classic franchise was kinda niche? But its music has always been a jam
Never heard about the MS DOS and X68000 different versions. Thanks for gathering them in a whole video, it's been years since someone decided to take on the Castlevania soundtrack.
Never has been *AIMS GUN AT YOU* But fr, I literally just played Lamet of Innocence recently and also had to realize that the game is very short if you only go for the story.
@@MajinBlueTheFutureMade lol that first part of your reply made me realize that accidentally I made a reference to that meme. I thought since that game is very important to the franchise it would have a Clocktower level. Anyway, thanks for replying.
Lament of Innocence takes place in the 11th or 12th century, so there probably weren't clock towers yet. If Castlevania (the castle) existed, it probably could've had a clock tower by then since it doesn't obey the normal rules of construction. But Dracula wasn't even a vampire yet.
Order of ecclesia's clock tower is my fave but I might just be biased, as order of ecclesia was my first ever Castlevania game (and also the one that got me hooked into the series: I've finished OoE, DoS, PoR, SotN, Dracula X chronicles, rondo of blood and more recently aria of sorrow)
Kinda surprised you didn't include "Pressure" from Castlevania 3 as well, because for some reason they added 2 God damn clock towers to that game lmfao
Dracula X has a special vibe in their music despite being an adaptation of Rondo of Blood. It isn't a bad game but people often compare it to a superior game which was on a console with better capabilities with CD technology music vs a cartridge
Bloodlines has the Weapons Factory. It's ~KINDA~ like a Clock Tower level... it has gears and such, it kills you a lot just like a Clock Tower level would xD.

I am not properly satisfied with a castlevania game if i don't rage at the clocktower levels.
This is it
This right here is how you get the Castlevania Experience™
Just put death in there as well to make it even better
@@MaxwellRomig or an extremely painful boss like the werewolf in Chronicles

The one from Rondo is pretty straghtforward. One climb, then one descent, with life refills.
Can't be a Castlevania experience without a clock tower level!
lament of innocence don't have one
Even Shovel Knight has one, and that was only mildly inspired by Castlevania.

I love the sense of urgency that “Out of Time” evokes!
I absolutely love the circle of the moon version of the clock tower track
Tragic Prince always sounded to me like a remix of all the clocktower themes before it.
my personal favorite is clock tower casualty from harmony of dissonance. that game's OST in general is criminally underrated, it has some of the most creative and anxiety-inducing music in the entire series, and its vrc6-esque sound is just (chef's kiss)
Cultured individual

My favorite one is The Tragic Prince
In my opinion the Tower of the Clock of Portrait of Ruin has the best music
agreed
Spikes. Gears. Pendulums and tons of harpy and medusa heads. And DEATH waiting us.
Clocktower, always a hard choice for picking a favorite.
Every version of Tower of gears is so anxiety inducing and nauseating. Especially, most definetly the chronicles version xD

@@RobbWes Thanks! I'll hopefully play it some time around
Castlevania SOTN still has the best Soundtrack 😍🥰
When I made it too the clock tower in circle of the moon and I heard the music I was welp okay time too try not to rage alot
Actually, the song that plays in Judgement's Clock Tower is the game's main theme: _"Darkness of Fear"_ (which also plays in the opening)
Afaik, any song can play in any stage, right? Because I put Clockwork here for that reason, since it's the most fitting one...
@@castlevaniamusicforever I was talking about story mode tho, as the Clock Tower only appears before the final boss and you fight Aeon there.

Yeah, it's a cool song, but I got so sick of it by the end of SotN.
Imagine if aliens came to our planet wanting to know what music was and their only example was the MS-DOS speaker version
Frustrating levels, amazing music
Except Tower of Gears, I hate that gibberish and there are countless versions of it
There's like four. But I disagree, it's just a "oooh spooky 👻" kind of composition set in 5/4 time.
I think you may have forgotten one clock tower theme and that is Iron Blue Intention from Castlevania Bloodlines
SoTN and Dawn still are my fave clock tower themes! 🖤
0:00:00 definitely feels faster when you're actually playing the game
fun how aria's sounds like doom music
My favorites are Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, and Eneomaos Machine Tower from Curse of Darkness.
I feel like Castlevania music is kind of underrated and it's just a little more popular because of Smash
Agree
I dunno how a series as old as it is could ever be considered underrated, I mean I guess maybe cause the classic franchise was kinda niche? But its music has always been a jam
Never thought it was underrated, it's a really well-known series and the music has always been one of the strong points.

0:58:05 Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow - Clock Tower The best.
Castlevania III my fav theme..
I'd definitely go for The Tragic Prince, Finale Tocatta, Eneomaos Machine Tower and Moon Fight,.
Cursed Clock Tower is top-notch.
I love the remix of aquarius from rebirth
AoS Clock Tower is underrated. It is my favorite, second only to Tragic Prince
