Jada Ci - Yes, you’ll have to perm, your hair. Otherwise the finger waves, won’t lay right. ( I get finger waves often).
Did she relax her hair or was it natural before washing?

What is the best lengths of hair to do finger waves?
PJ Moneybags probably less then 3 inches, especially if you have kinkier hair
You can have longer hair like back in the day. What we did was put the back in a bun, french roll or underbraid. The key is to make sure you have a relaxer or very straight but saturated hair with water and either gel or a wrapping lotion or foam depending on how soft or hard you want your waves to be.

Lavette Green yes back in the 20's women did finger waves with neck/shoulder length hair. Obviously it won't come out the same I think it looks better on shorter hair. Just search finger waves on long hair x

MoMo Show I had the same issue. The problem is that I had my hair natural. I believe she relaxed her hair prior to this.
