    For the crispy pork from the second location, the translation of 南乳炸肉 is actually “red bean curd crispy pork”! The taste is from marinating in the fermented red bean curd

    malaysian bkt dont use the same kind of pork like sg bkt. Normally its more of pork belly and meatballs plus innerds/organs and normal small pork ribs. SG style is just huge spare ribs fall off the bone.

    Am confused. Isn’t Malaysia mainly Malay and also dont eat pork? So isn’t this a bit of a biased representation of Malaysian food?

    • @dtcl1983
      @dtcl1983 6 месяцев назад +1

      As true as that is in terms of population, we do not lack non halal places for food. Brad is Malaysian Chinese as well, so to be fair, he does represent the non halal part of Malaysia. 😂

    • @interchris
      @interchris 6 месяцев назад

      @@dtcl1983don’t follow tbh. Just wondering if there’s no Malay or Indian Malaysian food?

    • @dtcl1983
      @dtcl1983 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@interchris there are, but it may also be what's available in Singapore. They're exploring Malaysian food in Singapore. The talents are not in Malaysia. So I'm not sure if there are many Malay or Indian businesses that are from Malaysia there. Brad is Chinese, so he is just one part of Malaysia, and he probably eats way more food that caters to Chinese taste buds in Malaysia. If they featured Malaysian malay food in Singapore, I'm sure they'll get a malay to Co host.

    • @interchris
      @interchris 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@dtcl1983ok that was my point. That the video wasn’t clear that it’s about Chinese Malaysian food.

      @@interchris we're a diverse culture, so we don't really take it to heart. As long as Malaysian food is represented, we're happy either way

      Well bak kut teh is differentiated by dialect group. Hokkien is black and teochew is white. It's not based on nationality
