You could've went to Big Wong's and gotten the cha siu ho fun and roast pork on rice like in one of your recent videos and had plenty of leftovers and you could've kept the change.

To me, it sounds like the "specialty" bread basket was worth its value when it comes to you your opinion and rating on its flavor and taste! Now, I, on the other hand, would not go to a restaurant just to order bread alone, I would order a dish that would compliment a high quality bread as well as the dish complement the bread, such as a creamy pasta dish or perhaps a bowl of soup! The bread price point is "subjective" on each individuals opinion and appreciation of any given thing!🙂

Here in Cincy OH now typical to charge for Artisan bread in a nice restaurant. They dot make it in-house just make a deal about which bakery it is from on there menue. Yes almost the same as Vagus $5 a person. Shoot in Cincy I can still go to old school Italian and eat all the dry bread sticks I want, why!
I guess they were being nice by not putting you in the table by the back alley or next to the bathroom. I love seeing staff standing by the open kitchen. At least they did not bump into you or your seat.

First one looks like a quickbread with milk and butter in the dough. Second one could be a brioche with extra eggs with a milk or egg wash. The skateboard screams lavash but it’s tricky to discern unless I taste them myself. I fear this paying for the bread trend might grow into the restaurant equivalent of the resorts fee. 😒. Basic bread is very cheap to make (although time consuming) and someone probably saw it as a cash opportunity. Fancy bread should be sold as an appetizer.
