I just wanted to say thank you! You re the only coach who clearly explained the spin that you need to put into the ball for hitting high balls. This is a game changer tip! thanks a million 🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌
You are the only coach that teaches how to approach a high ball. My problem was running too close to the ball and ended up hitting on the frame of my racket. Now I pay attention to the spacing and do little adjustment steps when I am near the ball. Thanks coach !
I have not finished watching it, but i love the way you explain this play, not only from the side of the 'sitter" but also from the other player. Thank you.
One of the best lessons online on dealing with a high short ball. Thank you ! You've mentionned the possible "side spin" produced by this kind of shot, I've never thought of it that way. I'm looking forward to test it on the court !
This is probably the best video on hitting sitters. The part about hitting the ball at the 2 o'clock position of the windshield wiper is an eye-opener. I first watched your Forehand Tip "The Angle" videos 8 years ago. I'm glad you're doing videos again. Btw, can you do a video on handling high topspin balls that are out of your strike zone(at or above your head level). One guy I hit with hits high topspin balls to me. So I return the ball with high topspin but my shots are weak since I hit the ball outside my strike zone.
I’m finding that setting up open stance right before the ball bounces and then hitting more down on the ball really makes a powerful shot. I find if I do closed stance it’s good for closing the net but harder to time it on my forehand which is semi western. What’s your favorite open stance or closed on high sitters? I’m also finding just coming in and taking the ball out of the air for a swing volley or regular volley is pretty low risk but you have to recognize it quick otherwise too late have to take it on the rise. I don’t think people practice mid court balls enough though especially high ones as that’s what pushers love to do to reset points.
Very good explanations, thanks. It can be even better by you're showing/demonstrating the movements with someone so that you can picture everything in every angle at least for your upcoming videos. Thanks a lot again
hi, thank you for your great videos, you always clearly explain the most relevant things, so nice. I think it's called a sitter though (the ball sits up), not a seater.
Speaking of guessing 8 out of 10 forehand sitters end up being played crosscourt. Therefore if your opponent's hitting one chances are he's hitting big on your right side. I really can't remember anybody playing a down the line forehand sitter, while sometimes you see inside/out and inside/in sitters. Ciao!
Thank you Mario, for the awesome info! Could you teach how to hit swing volley? Ball looks slow but actually much faster when it drops to racket level. Need some advice :-)
good stuff ...I feel like I've been hit it the face with a cream pie of knowledge ...btw, Beeline is a straight line ...not curved as you were implying ... coulda said 'roundabout' as well ....end of PSA :-)
