The Plymouth Volares became more reliable after 76 the early ones had some bugs to be worked out. The Volare and Aspen were pretty roomy and comfortable cars and the Diplomats and LeBaron were a bit upscale.
I had a 1977 wagon and yes it was a very good reliable car. I also had a 1980 Dodge Diplomat and again a very good car. Back when Chrysler did indeed build good cars. I think it started to go downhill in 1981 with the K Cars. because the two I owned were not as good as the Volare' Or Diplomat.
Yeah the new suspension that was the beginning of the end of the Chrysler ride and drive and an attempt to achieve the Ford and GM float. If I wanted a car with float I would buy a GM or a Ford product! They didn't get back their ride and drive until the 93 LH cars.
@@bradkay4794 the M-body, while not the smoothest compared to Ford or GM, did offer a much smoother ride compared to the Aspen/Volaré. They achieved this by improving suspension tuning and overall ride quality.
My first car was a 4 door 1976 Plymouth Volare. I bought it in 1986. Had only around 50000 miles on it. What a piece of sh!t. To this day , I have never bought another Chrysler product.
I almost expected Ricardo Montalban to show up and say "Rich Corinthian leather".

That was the chrysler lebaron ads
Oh my gosh.....another winning vintage commercial from the Chrysler brand!

Whoa ...Whoa....Whoa.... !!!
The commercial was better than the car, had one great car!
It looks like the Aspen.....and that's nothing to be proud of.
Where is Dean Martin? I suppose Chrysler would have gone bankrupt even sooner if they had hired him to plug their wares.

The Volare used the torsion bar suspension developed by Chrysler in the 1950’s.
@@Seadweller451D outside of the words torsion bar they have little in common
"They didn’t get their ride and drive back until the '93 LH cars". No. They got their ride and drive back with the '82-'89 M-bodies.
@@unitedcity_mc4421 No. The M bodies are volare derivatives.

Funny comment! These things were the stall champions of the world in the rain. Horrific ignition design.
That goes for most Chryslers in the 70s and in dry hot weather you had vapor lock . @@James-Noris
