They existed in a small pocket in the north-west. A lot of Pakistanis were Jain and Buddhist too, like rest of India. They were also called Hindus by the muslims, coz they basically are the same faith(ie. no faith) and the muslims do not know shit. Infact there is no term for hindu or hinduism or even religion in any natve indian language. Muslims brought that poison. 'The good thing about Islam is that it didn't destroy pagan religions'- 'Islam could not destroy' would be the most appropriate term here. They did try their best. Please look at the zoroastrian people of Iran. They broke every temple or Indian place of learning they could find. Burnt every book and library they captured. Also, they had to bring it down a bit so as to keep revolts at bay in a hindu majority nation.

Sanskrit is an old language but not original. India is thousands of years older. We just don’t know what the older languages were.
