The game winner at 10:43 had me thinking.. Man is like a quarterback who's also the running backl! He knows he has barely enough time to make 1 play, receives the ball, turns his head to "check and see" if his shooter on the left is open aka option 1. Knowing Jokic, that look is probably bait as a set up to get a dime into Gordon, who's not open. Option 1/2 are no goes. Option 3, he looks towards Gordon in the paint, not to check if Gordon is open, but to use his vision to check the other corner! However, this part is what makes him potential future GOAT status. Even though his shooter on the right is open, he knows, right now, with the pressure at it's climax, and with a second left on the clock, he's confident enough in his own ability and knows the best way to win is for he himself to BALL TF OUT AND TAKE THE THREE HIMSELF. All this happens in literally a couple seconds! Absolutely insane.

I haven't watched the NBA since Kobe retired but I still heard about the stars of the NBA just watching other sports related content. The European player I kept seeing and hearing about, that I assumed was the best European in the league, was Luka Doncic. I still assumed LeBron ran the league and there was this guy Luka who was taking the league by storm. Heard nothing and saw nothing of Nikola Jokic until a few months ago when Kendrick Perkins made an ass of himself on ESPN. Jokic is a type of player this league has never seen before and the media has done a terrible job highlighting him. To be fair, it partly , or mainly, do to him not wanting to be a brand or be on social media.

I've been saying for a few years.. this kid jokic is like if Larry bird had a kid with kevin Mchale.
He's got larrys feel and over all skill. Shooting passing. Rebounds.
But then he's got the footwork and post moves of kevin.
Is insane how the media shots on him. Coz he's not the flash in the pants polarizing kind of player that mashes headlines.

People comparing Jokic to Bird is a mistake. They don't play the same way. Even Kevin McHale, Bird's teammate, has pointed this out.
Bird played as a true wing and Jokic is 100% a center. Jokic is a combo player: Magic Johnson, Dirk Nowitski and Moses Malone rolled into one. Mike Breen mentioned this in the finals and he's right.
Jokic is not quite as good a playmaker as Magic; not quite as good a shooter as Dirk; and not quite the rebounder Malone was. But the fact that he DOES ALL THREE so well for the Nuggets is the mind-boggling part of his game.

i was SO disappointed for Jokics legacy with him not getting 3 MVPs in a row when i knew DAMN WELL he deserved it, but unfortunately he doesn't care about all that and i believe he took his foot off the gas pedal on purpose at the end of the season (on top of him wanting to rest his body for the playoffs) especially after Embiid opted out of playing the game against Nikola closer to the end of the season so that way he wouldn't lose that matchup and his chance in the MVP race. on top of the race BS they were trying to throw in our face that thankfully JJ wasn't gunna just sit by and let them say that sht uncontested. Jokic has been the best in the league for 3 years EASILY, and i don't see that changing anytime soon. i cant wait for next season
Yeah Embiid is a great player but Jokic deserved a third MVP. But I think this next season we may see him get another one. All the media haters were silenced this year. They don't have anything more to say after that playoff run, and him winning the finals and finals MVP.
I'd say it's fortunate that he didn't care about the MVP. Jokic didn't act like a bitch, he showed the world he's the best! He rested/was rested for the playoffs, they wanted the chip!
I think if Nikola Jokic keeps deliver the same performance year after year with the same or even better stats and win at least one more championschip then he might be the greatest center of all time and one of the best players of all time !!

How did Embiid get the season MVP? Jokić was clearly the best player in the NBA. The way Jokic dominated against Embiid in the playoffs should put all the comparisons to rest. He also dominated against other centers who won defensive player of the year awards. He is simply the best in the NBA.

I used to think magic Johnson was the best passer, assist guy, but now, I don't know. Jockic, is the best basketball player I've ever seen! I don't think Wilt could keep up and down the court with him. I sadly don't think Bill Russell could defend him because he was too small and shorter, by a lot. Especially, weight wise.
