I remember this short from a 50 Classic Cartoons VHS I had in the 1990s. I’d forgotten how much that Smiley Burnette song at the end really slaps! Thanks for sharing this.
I had the same VHS tape! Really strong nostalgia for this one.
I had this on VHS as a very small child and I SWEAR the color was full and not two-strip
"Somewhere in Dreamland", released in early 1936, was the first Fleischer cartoon in full Technicolor. But two-strip Technicolor can also look pretty good, as seen in many of the Fleischer Color Classics released before that.
@@weikko79I'm more than sure you're right, idk anything about the history, and I was very small. Weird how my memory filled in the gaps on this.
I remember watching this on Pee Wee's Playhouse as a kid.
This was an NTA print of this cartoon, but it has no opening and closing logo. Same thing happened on so many Public Domain VHS tapes for years.
True. This was all we saw for decades.
they just restored this!
Oh wow that ending sequence is brilliant!
YO I REMEMBER THIS. i forgot how good the song was
It was “Mama Don’t Like Music” by Smilie Burnette. ruclips.net/video/ugg7Yx8WPtM/видео.htmlsi=1G4YFaGfO4Oop7uN
And then, Frankie Lymon formerly of the Teenagers covered it as “Mama Don’t Allow It”. ruclips.net/video/h2ZM_8zwdl4/видео.htmlsi=-R_NJVDNu9DLQ_aA
They were showing this on PBS in the early 80s, part of a "Movie Matinee" show they had going on. I think they simply gave up on the minimal color for this cartoon because they were broadcasting it in B&W.
Como se hará ese filtro actualmente??
Hope you can find the 35mm version!

Is this next on the list for restoration? Its a favorite

Was this done in a 2-color process or does it just look that way due to color fading?
Both
Yes this was made in 2-strip as Disney's exclusive license with Technicolor had not yet expired. Color Classics went into three strip with Somwhere in Dreamland the following year.
Uhh hasn't this cartoon been on this channel for awhile?
Is her accent a mixture of Russian and German?
4:52 ah I wonder Why his hair did that??
6:52 At Least it isn't Hard Cider .

this cartoon again why not creating
Because this channel's owners are involved in *restoring* these old cartoons. They aren't animators. They're restoring the old and badly-damaged cartoons from Fleischer Studios. Fleischer Studios no longer exists, and all these cartoons are 90+ years old.
@@zenfrodo Can you tell me how I can open my own studio and create such cartoons
