This isn't the "original" Hindu culture. Bali and south-east Asia in general always had their own version of Hindu culture, which was the result of synthesis between Hindu culture from India and the native animist cultures of all the individual south-east Asian countries. Every country had their own versions, because Hindu culture doesn't dogmatically impose itself on others.

We malays are strong believers of One God. During hinduism, we worship god, not idols. When Islam came...we still worship The One God...as Islam is the FINAL revelation. Not rocket science to understand. Good that you know our regional history. Try study about the southern Thai and southern Philippines too. These are the Malay archipelago. We still have similar Malay cultures across these SEA political countries, divided by the european colonizers. And our cultures are never Indian.

This is wrong and Abrahmic view of Hinduism. Hindus worship the Murti/Murty not Idols. There is a huge difference between Lifeless Idol vs. Cosmic Energy filled Murti. When you don't have basics of Hinduism it would be much better you don't talk about it. Also, Hinduism is about "GOD IS ONE" which can have many forms or manifestation just like Nature. And regarding "ONE GOD", it is known as BRAHMANA in Hinduism. So don't get confused next time.

I can see some similarities with marriage customs of southern Tamilnadu. Especially the opening scene of women carrying fruits on head. We carry it in plates on hand. It is very colourful and good looking elegant ladies are chosen for this ceremony.

Once even our community ( India Hindu) use to have simpler weddings with rituals and traditions
I even have seen pictures and snapshots of my parents weddings , they were quite simpler and authentic.
But things changed now
Bollywood and some north Indian culture have influenced Arabic and lousy - party culture in weddings .

People use to wear traditional sarees and other clothes in weddings .
Now kurta and Arabic gowns have majorly replaced them .

Yes...North Indian culture which is heavily influenced by Muslim culture definitely influencing our original Hindu culture. Today's marriage is only part Hindu...and part Muslim and even a small part christian influenced.

If you you see ceremonial of balinise ...good to have balinise calender .....there you will get information .of ceremony .its according of fullmoon (purnama) n tilem (darkmoon/dead moon)...this balinese calender give information of gooddays of doing ceremony .

the reason it is lost in india because indians are too 'patriotic' and 'confident' over their culture. India is not a complete hindu country. over the years in history culture has passed through lots of vulnerability. Mixture of thoughts and cultural practise of different people with their contrast of belief has wiped out its originality.
The reason that it ia lost in india is bcz of the distorted history tht was taught to us im the last 70 yrs ..they try to change the history .this pseudo secular stuff is responsible where they always target hindus festival just like they are doing it now . In this way future generation on india will literally forget the word hindu ..the people are mostly funded and they are tryimg to brainwash people to make it am islamic nation which will nevwr happen trying to change the festivals names and giving it muslim name in the name of secularism thts how u wipe out culture thts wht is going on in India ☹️☹️☹️

Yes... temples of Indonesia also show clear signes of style followed in Orissa and South India. But, I also understand that People from South Bengal and Orissa (and, aso from Southern coast) were sea faring merchants and immigrant and settled in Bali and Sri Lanka. Even in our childhood we saw a festival called Bali Yatra.
