The "Friday the 13th" boxset from Scream Factory is deffo a must-own for any horror movie fan by heart. And if I could predict on what would be the next Scream Factory boxset would come out soon, it's gonna be "A Nightmare on Elm Street" boxset with all 9 movies, including the original films, a crossover with Jason Voorhees and the 2010 remake. Or it's gonna be the "Final Destination" boxset with all 5 movies in 4K UHD and Blu-Ray remastered in 4K.
2, 4 and 6 are my favorites. Part 2 is just a really tense movie that does a good job of developing Jason and has my favorite heroine of the whole series because she uses her intelligence and background in psychology to outwit him which is more interesting than most films in the series. 4 is the ultimate Friday the 13th film, it's everything the series is known for executed flawlessly. 6 is a fun, self-aware romp that allows Jason to ascend from a mortal slasher villain to true horror monster legend and it's where I feel like he finally gets out of Michael Myers' shadow. 4 and 6 are the ones I'd suggest people watch if they're only interested in seeing one or two of them. 7 is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me too, even though the kills are terrible and it's not that great as a horror movie the concept of Jason facing a worthy opponent was fun and watching Kane Hodder's Jason get more frustrated and angry as the film progresses is hilarious. It's almost more like a super hero action movie at the end there. It's a shame most of the F13's Kane is in are the bad ones. I love Freddy vs. Jason as well even though lots of F13 fans hate it. People get so upset about the whole "JASON ISN'T AFRAID OF WATER" and don't get that he only really reacts that way in the dream world where Freddy is messing with his head. Outside of the dream world Jason goes into the lake no problem so no, he's not afraid of water in the film, Freddy is just screwing with his mind and making him remember drowning. It's not a movie people should be taking that seriously anyway and we got to see Robert Englund ham it up as Freddy in a movie one last time. I saw it in theaters opening night and it was a wild experience. I laughed at "it's not a good movie" when you got to part 8. That was all you needed to say about that. The unrated version is gorier but it's still terrible. The remake is okay, it's sort of a greatest-hits compilation of the first four films with a smarter, faster Jason. I get why some people are disappointed with it and others love it. It's sorta somewhere in the middle for me but it is exactly what it set out to be for better or worse.

That movie back in the day was just panned by critics and didn't do too well at the box office but now part 6 is considered by some to be the best sequel. I love it, I saw it at the theater back in 86 and the next morning when doing my paper route was scared shitless trying to get done because it was still dark out at 5am delivering papers and riding my bike as fast as I could because Voorhees was out there 😆

Everyone has hate for part 8 but I love it, I love the soundtrack to it, ok so he wasn't in Newyork for long but it's prob my fav out of all of them, and the artwork is fantastic, even on all of them. I like the way the kept it. OK some actally isn't the original artwork especially the first one but I'm not complaining. I wasn't going to get this boxset because I want the full uncut versions but I realise now it's just not going to happen so I will get this.
Yep completely agree. It's a brilliant little film with some great kills. I love that most of the action takes place on the boat. It tends to get a bit boring when they reach Manhattan. Plus when I was in my teens I had a massive crush on Scott Reeves.
I have this amazing set and the poster and lithograph, but obtaining the replacement discs from Shout!s base in California was an absolute nightmare because I live all the way in Australia. I've had a glimpse of your channel and look forward to checking your videos out. You seem to be a solid movie / merchandise collector.👍👍
Great boxset. Part 7 is also my favorite. Number 9 and 10 was a hot mess. Loved Freddy vs Jason. And I agree, Kane Hodder should've been Jason. He born for that role. He's my favorite Jason.
Yeah... 9 was a bad drug trip and 10 was on the level of a bad SyFy Original Movie though Hodder was great in it before they turned him into Lord Zedd from the Power Rangers. While it's sad we never got Hodder vs. Englund in Freddy vs. Jason I think some fans are too hard on Ken Kirzinger.
Last year I bought this whole set on Amazon,then went to Walmart to buy a Blu-ray player! Lot s of great extras on two discs is to die for! GREAT INVESTMENT!👍👍👍
I got mine in the mail a few days ago and have yet to open it since I work two jobs 7 days a week. I can't wait until tomorrow when I only work half a day and when I get home I'll open it and have two frame ready to put the artwork in and display next to my Friday the 13th 1 and 2 movie posters. I go on vacation the second week of November and I'll break it out and watch every single movie and extra.
The reason part 3 didn't have 3d glasses is because it's blu-ray 3d. Not red and blue 3d like 3d tv blu ray 3d, 3d. It's actually amazing. Big upgrade!

Shout made no mistake and did it RIGHT on the original blu ray . NO need for correction or a re-placement disc. I was a motion picture projectionist for 30 years and ran this Film . and this how the title card was designed… [CROPPED FRAME] Jason is in full 3-D on the last shot of him lying on the shed’s floor and grabs his knife there is a cross-fade [ NOT a SPLICE ] to the mother’s head… THE MAIN TITLE POPS FROM HER EYES in FULL 3-D …title stops at mid-way… Then comes right at you popping over your head. Done right …then cross-fades [NO SPLICE] to the rest of the credits ARE POPPING but they have to stop at mid-way for sharpness done right . watch this title card 3-D segment on a digital projector 200”screen size and all the credits are popping off the screen in the right fashioned NO NEED FOR CORRECTION.
My favorite is Jason lives and I also actually love Jason takes Manhattan even though no one questions how he got on a ship that was in a lake and ended up in the ocean and a lot of people also don’t even realize that Jason wasn’t even in 2 of the movies! The first one and A new beginning! But it’s things like that that make these movies so rad! I was born in 77 and I got to see these as a very impressionable terrified child and I couldn’t be happier because these movies would not be so great to me. I can still feel the utter fear I felt as a child watching these and I’m glad I’m not some person that doesn’t feel anything except bored and how stupid everything is in these movies. You people will never get to feel the magic of these movies and I feel sorry for you. Also the one you weren’t sure of on the box art was the Jason lives version of Jason when he takes the part of the cemetery fence that tommy stabbed his coffin with that the lightning struck and brought him back to life hence the lightning around it.
At the time the remake had recently been in theaters, I read somewhere that New Line had fully intended to do sequels to it but it had the bad luck to come out as the economy was crashing. Movie studios were starting to be more selective about which projects got funded and Friday The 13th didn't make the cut (pun fully intended).
Yes the 3D version of Part 3 the title sequence doesn't pop out the screen like it should Jason Goes To Hell is missing the wrist snap with the bone sticking out scene from the uncut version and the scene in Jason X where he is hitting the girls in a body bag their screaming noises are missing
Sadly not mate. I was hoping there would be too (I live in the UK) but unfortunately if you want to get this set I'm afraid you'll have to fork out for a multi-region Blu-ray player. It's well worth spending that extra bit of cash for it though as this set is sublime.

@@SeekerLancer yea, i watched it other night. It was a horrible transfer to be honest. It kept the widescreen and the non 3d just was pixulated and grainy, even with the compressed 16x9 picture. They should have atleast included the 3d glasses for that movie, esp for the price of hte set.
I love Freddy vs Jason So good characters are ok Freddy and Jason look the most badass I have ever seen them also because that final fight was amazing So I hop people do respect this movie it’s a good movie with ok characters with an amazing final fight
@@adrianothegoat these are all not in 4k. Friday 1-4 got a new 4k transfer, meaning they digitally scanned the film in 4k but downscaled, and mastered the discs in 1080p. The 4k scan gives a good increase in detail despite being truly only 1080p.
I guess you're very new to Friday the 13th movies - the fact that you've never seen the uncut version? that is just bonkers mate. I saw it nearly 20 years ago ! UK DVD release in early 2000's saw to that. Plus there are many different posters advertising the movie out there - in the days when cinemas put posters on display. I guess we're both just showing our ages eh? I have the original cinema quad poster for it's UK release in 1980 and the one you were on about on the inside of the case was used for home video versions on VHS many many years ago.

Apparently 3 of the discs have issues. Missing audio from jason x, missing shot from JGTH and an issue with the part 3d title sequence.
They are replacing the disks
I guess you're very new to Friday the 13th movies - the fact that you've never seen the uncut version? that is just bonkers mate. I saw it nearly 20 years ago ! UK DVD release in early 2000's saw to that. Plus there are many different posters advertising the movie out there - in the days when cinemas put posters on display. I guess we're both just showing our ages eh? I have the original cinema quad poster for it's UK release in 1980 and the one you were on about on the inside of the case was used for home video versions on VHS many many years ago.

They didn't even press their own disc for FvJ? That's just a re-release of the original disc from New Line.
