Thanks for posting this video. I was actually looking for a soprano version, because soprano music fits my vocal range best. I once tried to sing the Evermore song from Beauty and the Beast, but as the original song was sung with a baritone male singer, that was totally out of my own range, and I probably sang with an octave higher than the original.

When you say "Dan Stevens'/movie version", what are the differences you are asking for? The lyrics are the same, therefore do you mean singing it with an orchestra backing track?
+elisabethvocals It has a few differences. You might see what I mean if you listen to Josh Groban's version and the movie version side by side. The movie is obviously a more theatrical Broadway-ish version with certain inflections and emotions, it's also paced faster, and yes with different background music. I'm sure it could be replicated with a piano though. Or even just using the music without lyrics. Of course please don't feel pressured to do this at all, I just love the movie version and your voice is beautiful and I think it would sound amazing.

Why do people always ask this? When a new person covers something, it's common for them to change it to suit them. Whether it's changing 'just a boy like me' to 'just a girl like me', changing 'he' to 'she', or changing 'holy ghost' to 'holy dark', it happens all the time. Covering a song is about making it suit you, karaoke is about making you suit the song.
Truth be told, I'm making "Rise of the Runelords" campaign for pathfinder and trying to engineer "The Harpy's Curse" play to be a genderbent version of Beauty and the Beast and been trying to find a version that replaces the "she" to "he" in this song for quite a while. So glad I finally found one. I just hope my players bother to go see the play now XD
