Jeff 9:55 "cause we're working on Rage 2, obviously", he said, joking. Ah if only they knew back then :p Or what that Quake they wanted would be like too.

I've really enjoyed Doom 2016 as well. I'm an old Star Trek EF/Quake 3 player and I had to get Doom 2016 on PC as well as console. I got it on console first as I didn't think my PC could handle it, but setting it to 1024x768 medium settings(4:3 NEC 90GX^2 gaming monitor...thing is still awesome after all these years)kept the game locked at a solid 75FPS with my PC setup. I've beat it on Nightmare on PC and am working on that difficulty on console. Much harder on console as I don't have the accuracy of a mouse to aim.
Needless to say, they knocked the game play of the single player campaign out of the park.

Doom convinces me there is a god more than the bible does. I love it.

DooM was a much needed and desired release for old school FPS fans. It showed the modern gaming world that give the player a real challenge of skill and the victory would have felt that much more satisfying. I played the Division by doing missions 1 or 2 levels under the recommended level and instead of depending on items to roll us through, we used tactics. when you finish the mission it felt so satisfying to have bested a challenge like that.
DooM (2016) is a great time to be a fan of FPS games. I had a smile going through the campaign and clapped when the credits rolled. DooM is the 1st entry for me for 2016 GoTY.

Wow, I just checked and DOOM was released a year ago today. I had no idea it'd been that long.

The combat is sooo fun!, that it out weighs some problems with it's repetitive mission structure, which feels honestly more tedious than the original games did. How every arena is a lock down with gore nests gets fuckin old, but the combat out weighs it

Doom 3 is great. Its the one ‘Jeff Rant’ I completely disagree with. He has some kind of vendetta against it. Its not supposed to be a return to the style of 1/2. The argument, its not like the first two, so its bad is short sighted, narrow minded and vindictive. If its not for you that is fine, everyone has their preferences. But when Doom 3 is brought up, he acts like someone is bringing up some old emotional scar, like an ex that resulted in a bad breakup. Its your job to discus the objective merits of a game, you can say its not your cup of tea, whilst still touching on what was done well. Objectivity is the key word. This to me marks the end of GB, in terms of what it used to aspire to, objectively critiquing video games, rather that subjectively trashing things you don’t like. Its a dumb way to subvert what made the crew so damn cool, back in the day. See ya.
