Wow...watched both. Surprised the interior painted "support" columns flats not removed and what was on the roof ...a jeep prop? So interesting and glad you published this...thank you.

Seeing those Green timbers on the 2nd floor was tough. I wonder how many times I went past those since 1962, and all the people I rode with.

One of my fav rides when I was a kid in the 70's. It's sad to watch this. Ralph, I hope you got a piece of that as a memento.

I couldn’t bring myself to watch this. I was down there when Jungle Land went in the 80s, and I have a little piece of it. The Golden Nugget was iconic. It’s so strange not seeing it still

This breaks my heart :( The entire time I was in Wildwood last month this ride was on my mind! Check out some of the footage I found from 30 years ago I just posted. Thanks for that!

The Golden Nugget and the Pirate Ship were all this kid needed in Wildwood.

The Morey's should have rebuilt the ride instead of sending to to Knobele's. The ride now is not as good. They had the original blueprints so it wouldn't of been hard to rebuild a new Golden Nugget. Do you have any video of inside the pirate ship when it was still in operation? Also, any video riding Keystone Kops ride? I had alot of fun on these 3 rides when I was young. It would be nice to see them again.

I agree and I disagree. Yes it would have been great if the Morey's were able to rehab it in place. As far Knoebels, I think they did a freaking amazing job with the Black Diamond. It was good the first year, but it was awesome this year. Much faster on the drops than the first time I rode it, I believe even faster than the Nugget. And we had a few first time riders with us that never got to ride the Nugget and they were all were happy campers. That being said, the GN sat way out on the Pier for decades and it should still be sitting there.
