- At least five protesters have been killed and many injured including Barack Obama's sister Auma Obama in protests which broke out after the Kenyan parliament passed a bill to raise taxes. Police opened fire and water canons failed to disperse protesters after disgruntled Kenyans stormed the country's parliament in Nairobi.
