Glad to hear you addressed the warning signs and you’re back to 💯! You’re a “high flyer” on RUclips 👌and you will be flying high amongst the clouds again before you know it. Take it easy and make the most of it 😀
Good to hear you are doing well. In the medical profession, so please remember they treated the symptoms, not the cause. Look after yourself, know it’s difficult for all of us to get rid of stress and live carefree. Make those changes you can, and thank you for the honest review and advice.
Thanks, I will do a video on my little journey, as I am sure there are many folk who are slightly nervous about the procedure. Its really to give people a bit of reassurance that, like in my case I went from having no symptoms after the initial ones back in May, to then getting pains and being out of breath when walking up stairs and walking my dogs after 100 metres, in the 7 days before my procedure , so the op came at the right time. Post op am a totally different chap, huge improvement and thats what I want to show in the video. The Professor in Oxford did say the restriction was critical, hence 2 stents in the artery. Thought I had a pretty ok diet TBH, non smoker, non drinker (kind of) and relatively fit(kind of)😁 . Appreciate the comments.
Good to see youre on the mend! Just Germany at the moment with what looks like a wet days riding today. Did the Nurburgring yesterday which was quite the experience. Bucket list tick
Glad you’re ok and on the mend. I know quite a few people who have had stents fitted, and now they have never felt better. I am sure you will be the same and will soon feel like an 18 year old again very soon. 6 months off work sounds like bliss, but if I had your job, I would be itching to get back to the grindstone as soon as possible.Take care and take it easy. All the best, Phil.
Glad to see your fighting fit, I always had you down as a retired Bobby for some reason, might be something you said in a previous video which made me think it. Anyhow looking forward to the future content, lets hope you at least get some dry days over the next six months. 👍
Retired bobby 😂 I would end up saying in the videos things like vanishing point, stopping in the distance you can see to be clear and the system of car control is........👍
GSD321 glad your still around mate. You are my 'go too' for honest, unbiased reviews of all things bikes. From your own comments about your lifestyle which seems pretty healthy,I'm very much of the view everything in moderation..whatever will be will be!
Awesome video! I am happy that you are on the mend. Take care of yourself. I am looking forward to the BMW's you going to ride. Especially the XR. Best!
My wife had a echocardiogram for heart pains, abs turned out it was a tumour in her right ventrical. Open heart surgery within two weeks to remove it. That was in March, and still on the road to recovery from the operation. Heart is ok and recovered, but it's the procedure that hits you for six on recovery Best wishes to you. .
I didn't know you were a pilot. I'm a pilot too, same as you an A320 Captain. Our job puts so much stress on our body we should take care of it well. Sorry to hear the health issue you had 🤕 but glad you are ok now 🥳
Health to ride, it's good you got it sorted before it was too late as most blokes just keep going and say nothing until it's beyond help. Great videos on the gear and product reviews.
Yes indeed. The regulatory body here in the UK, the CAA, will require me to undertake the treadmill test again and a few more tests, which is totally understandable, especially when it comes to passenger safety 👍
Yes I will and thanks. I have got a friend whose office was also in the sky and he's now grounded, his heart beat went crazy for no reason and he had those injections too and believes that they had something to do with it. Lost his office job because of that.
glad your ok ,would miss your video's ,i think I've watched every one since owning a Gs know jersey well have visited 5 times now just love it there. my question is have you ditched the carpuride w702b and if so why ?
Carpuride is now in a box in garage. The Chigee is just so good with BSD, Dash Cam , rear view mirror and best of all you can use the whizz wheel. It all depends on budget I guess. I am lucky that these companies send me products to review and every so often one comes along that just ticks most of the boxes....I am planning on doing a video about Jersey if you are a visiting motorcyclist arriving from UK/France, some of the attractions, biking roads, beach cafes etc to go, thats still in the planning stage. Hopefully in a few weeks time whilst summer is still here.😂
Hi Paul, looks like you’re doing great and that is good news, we need more cameras and lights on our bikes 😂 and you do, do a great job at it. With the help of your dogs to keep you in check. See you soon out and about. Ps I can’t believe Greg is letting you on his bikes, 😮 do you know what your getting yourself into?😂
Good informative video to make us all aware that as we get older we're not indestructable - glad you got it sorted quickly👊. On another note, is that an Oxford Jacket you're wearing ? Any good and how would you rate it ? Was looking at Rukka but if there's another option out there !
Thanks, yes it is. Not sure how good it would be after a couple of hard winters, but for me after I think 3 years of ownership its been fine, but I am a dry weather chap unless I get caught out. Pretty well made ...ive got 2 😂
Hi Paul, I am a big fan of your channel, bought the Chigee AIO-5 Lite, then sold it for the Innovv N1 pro mainly because of the 6" screen: had some problems in connecting the yellow ACC wire, I notice at 1:12 you have the same issue: when you power on the engine, the Innovv reboots: I solved it by tapping the yellow ACC cable from before the main switch
Hi. To be fare I only connected the Innovv into the USB to get power and get the video out. I will connect it to the battery and then into a switched live where the chigee is connected and then do a side by side video. I have had lots of chats with the technicians at Innovv and they know that have some work to do ref Chigee, but the 6" is a very nice size of screen. Video out soon.
Glad you are getting better and I’m looking forward to the new videos. Do you have to be released by your AME to fly again. I assume you are on a UK ATPL, just wondering how long it takes (just seen the bit with 6 months) and what you have to go through to be released again. I’m 60 and ok, at the moment
Hi Chris . Yup got served with the standard unfit to fly letter from AME once he was aware . UK ATPL . Lgw based, semi-retired 50% since 2011👍There is a standard CAA heart flow diagram depending on what you get done , stents is a mandatory 6 months off and then tests to be done and submitted to CAA . My AME and cardiologist are all in the loop and I have a single point of contact at work reference queries etc . Looking forward to getting back in the seat right in the middle of winter if all goes to plan 😁
@@gsd32i Thank you. I’ve been lucky so far. I binned the statins after my heart attack last year..after doing a lot of research I realised the jury's definately still out on that one! seed oils generally seem to be an issue, so they've gone..but yeah one stent. two doses of pericarditous later and I'm good to go..ish
Had to look up pericarditous!!! I was reluctant to go down the statin route as I was on them several years ago and they didn't agree with me, came off them and I changed my diet etc and did really well, and got it right down to about 5, but I found it a bit tough after a year or so of eating cardboard!!!!! So I gradually slipped back into normal food etc but still a healthy kind of diet, but it crept up again to about 8.3 in January!! Can't be doing with the diet again so will do the statins and on a different kind which I am ok with. With this scare I need to drive the cholesterol right down especially the ldl ratio , so its 40mgs a day now as a preventive measure as one of the other arteries is reduced but ok. 3 stents is game over for me from an aviation point of view. NHS in Oxford were brilliant. I have been guided by the Cardiologists ref the statins but yes a have done the research and watched RUclips 🙈. Hope you are fighting fit now.
Good outcome but you need to think about how you got to that point in the first place and make some lifestyle choices going forward. It’s so easy to think that’s it all sorted but those fixes won’t last if you don’t make changes now and stick to them. That’s always the difficult bit most don’t do it then seemed shocked when it all happens again or worse. Speaking as a retired NHS clinician, just giving an opinion based on 40 years practice not a clinical recommendation. Take care enjoy the videos👍
Thanks for the comments. Non smoker non kind of drinker, keep fit, high cholesterol can blame my mother for that, on statins since January and have a pretty good diet but yes could be better ref mediterranean diet as the cardiac nurse told me when I saw her last week and I walk my dogs every day...Married for 34 years and wifes cholesterol is spot on....no exercise and same diet....🙈 My journey video will explain all that stuff. The staff were amazing at Oxford. 👍

Its amazing how many pilots are unfit, sitting a round all day watching a plane fly itself! Im sure once upon a time pilots had to be tested yearly to keep their license!
The fun starts when the engine goes bang, you have a fire and a medical emergency onboard with a passenger or disruptive passengers, or the weather is poor, thundery, windy especially cross winds. Fortunately most of these, excluding the wet n windy thundery stuff, are done every 6 months in the simulator to keep us current . All good clean fun. As far as watching the plane fly itself, yes pretty much so, other than the take off and landing, which it can do itself, in the commercial environment with busy airspace button pushing and automation is the safest means of having that extra mental capacity to monitor what's going on and give good SA (situational awareness) As always, appreciate your input 😁
I had 4 stents when I was 52, and if I didn't have to take medication every day now, I would think I was in better shape than before, because the arteries are open again. Ok, now I'm 5 years older and notice the age ggg

Yes they do, but on a normal ecg the heart is at rest and not under load so it would not put it up.
Get it as a medic also maybe need to change it to an exercise tolerance test as a static ecg only shows arrhythmia and heart attacks way too late
