I have had a 2009 G37 since 2013 and now have 235k miles on it. Had no idea it could do this! It’s been a great car.
That’s great! You been taking care of it so it will take care of you. It’s gonna keep going as long as you keep it up! Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
I’m at 261k rn
233k and still going strong maintenance is really key to these things and $
I am watching this before I try it. I inherited it. We are at 187k miles
Great video! Perfectly explained. Manual mode was designed for a REASON! Use it! Don’t abuse it. That’s how you get the most out of the engine. Well you’ll get the most out of the stock engine programming. Since they are tuned down for maximum engine life expectancy. I agree that the 2nd to 1st gear down shift is EXTREMELY sus lol. Down shifting to third is the lowest you’d wanna go with moderate(moderate being 35-50mph) to low speed. If you’re going any faster dont go lower than 4th. Can’t wait for more videos! Stay up!
Exactly! Have fun with your car but don’t abuse it! I honestly hate 1st and 2nd Gear on this car lol especially in traffic! But thanks for watching and supporting bro 💯💯
Can you explain what these shifts mean? I love my baby but no one is near to teach me about my baby.
Perfectly explained. I just started using manual a week ago. Mind you, I've had the car 4 years, so you've let me know im doing right. It is SOOO much FUN!
It adds more excitement while driving. I’m glad this video helped. Thanks for watching 💯💯
Ok so I’m not the only one having that issue downshifting from second to first I mean I’m no expert at downshifting but it definetly doesn’t feel the best
1st and 2nd gear are probably the worse gears on that car lol but I just think that’s how it is. If I find anything out I’ll make a vid on it. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
@@CarAdventuresWithRegupgrade to a race clutch
Just don’t shift to first it’ll do that itself
I have both manual 04 G35 and Auto 06 G35 and that’s how downshifting from 2nd to 1st supposed to feel jerky and pull u forward like ur pressing on brakes it’s normal idk about it causing damages just know that it’s regular for car too feel like that but yes especially new feeling to people who haven’t drove a manual car
don’t shift into 1st while decelerating. let the car do it itself cuz it’ll usually stay in 2nd for a few seconds after you fully stop incase you start rolling again, my Passat does the same thing and i’ve learned to just let it do it’s thing
Thanks a lot man!! I figured it out on my own, but these are great tips. I’ve already raced my buddy’s eco boost mustang in manual mode and I won haha, it was awesome!!
- just don’t switch it tho in mid drive bro. Seriously cuz eventually you’ll mess your valve up.
You gonna get those eco boost all the time 😂😂😂 thanks for watching bro 💯💯
@@dcmasta123 wdym? Switch it as in switch it back to automatic as you’re accelerating?
I HAVE MY G37s and manual mode is so fun..one of the best cars I ever have
Real fun in manual mode!
💯just never switch into any modes while in mid drive, it’ll increase the chance of valve body going out. I learned my lesson, my neighbor didn’t listen to me.. then his went out. Others I’ve talked to did same thing and went out lol. Always come to a complete stop before switching, not saying you but just in general 💯💯💯💯
Thank you for this. I’ve always wondered this. I normally drive my car in manual mode because I hate how the auto tranny runs with stop and go traffic. I hate how the car goes to the highest gear to save gas lmfao so I’m always in manual mode
I’ve heard about that too but wasn’t sure if it was facts. But a lot of people be abusing it when you switch while driving I kinda take it easy. But good looking on the heads up! Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
I hate this transmission in traffic lol I gotta video I’ll be dropping soon on it 😂😂
@@CarAdventuresWithReg after getting an axel back installed on my car, I notice rev flare in traffic, usually around 40-50kmh and fuck does it piss me off lol doesn’t happen in manual mode tho
Are you saying don’t go into sport mode while I’m driving? I don’t understand how that can make your valve body go out. All it’s doing is telling the computer to operate the transmission different. You still stay in that gear. So where’s the harm?
Absolutely right. I got a 08 coupe with a HFC and a single exit and I will say DS and manual /paddle shift, sounds the best. But I messed up my Acura I had driving it in manualmode over and over.
Nice! I love sport mode especially when it rev matches. I had an old Acura as well and those transmissions are horrible you can just drive regular and it will go out lol. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
I just bought a G37s and thought my trans was super fucked up. Wasn’t really familiar with a standard auto trans, always drove a shitty CVT and manual mode gears shifted instantaneously since it’s not an actual shift of gears it’s just a mechanism.
First drive with the G I had it in 1st and stomped the gas and shifted at 8k cause I wasn’t used to that little delay, glad to know these cars are just built like that and it was user error
Yea they have a little delay but it’s not a bad transmission
Thank you for the: drive your car. I just got a G37 and I'm a sissy with it.
No problem bro. Have fun with it
I’m sitting with my 2015 Q40 at 132,000 miles >_< I got it at 63,000 miles. Good car so far !!!
Still good mileage it can go for a long time as long as you keep taking care of it.
That’s great!! I also have a 2015 Q40 with 45,100 miles on it. It’s been a great car. I’m hoping it lasts 🤞🏼
Got the same delay as teptronic. Notice how he shifts and then .5-1 second later the car finally shifts gears. You gotta shift like .7 seconds quicker than you normally would in a manual.
Yea it’s a little delay with these trans
thanks bro i jus got my g37x this vid help fr💯💯
Congrats bro! Glad this video helped. Thanks for watching 💯💯
That was a really good video I love how you explain everything I'm gonna try that on the car that I have.
I’m glad I was able to help. Appreciate the support!
Mannnnn I felt him when he said don’t be afraid to drive your car 😂😂I be coasting my fin
😂😂😂 gotta drive it every once in awhile
Same bro, it’s good to rev it up once a while give it that italian tune up iykyk haha also helps clean out those carbon deposits in the valves that accumulate driving in low rpm’s all the time 👍🏻
Did you put the explosions in the exhaust pipe or do they come out on their own?
Sound like my g37x🔥👌🏾
Love the G’s exhaust! Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
I use sportmode with the rev match.
Definitely! You can use manual mode or sport mode. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
Sport mode in my 2012 g37x gives me better gas mileage around town 20-21mpg.. on good premium shell or bp gas.... nooo sphinx or QT
thank you for telling me what DS MEANT even if the video was old so thank you leaned something new thank youu 🎉
No problem! Thanks for watching 💯💯
I don’t understand y nobody talks about the rpm’s when to shift when to not shift
It’s kinda hard to explain that because you should know when the engine is Reving high you need to shift but I’ll be recording another video like this with the G35 so I’ll go into more detail in that video. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
Thanks brodie
Check your manual bro. I’m in canada so ima tell you in kilometres.
1st -2nd @ 15 kmh
2nd - 3rd @ 25 kmh
3rd - 4th @ 40 kmh
QUICK ACCELERATION
1st - 2nd @ 24 kmh
2nd - 3rd @ 40kmh
3rd - 4th @ 64kmh
4th is a really long gear and you’ll find yourself cruising in this gear a majority of the time. I only use 5th and 6 if going over 60-70 kmh.
Hope this helps bro
I have a 2012 g25x and I been wanting to figure out the manual I drive texas highways alot and when there's no traffic I wanna have a Lil fun
Manual mode is really fun!
So I tried to switch to manual when I was on a highway but when I had to lower the speed at a roundabout motor started to make ugly sounds as I should've lower the gear but I didn't exactly know how to do that and didn't manage the situation well, I just shifted into automatic mode again as I got scared not to hurt my car and now I'm afraid to try manual mode again. 😣
Don’t be afraid to drive in manual mode bro. It’s fun but just learn a little bit about shifting and you will be ok
Great video! One question is when do u know when to start shifting it. I know there are certain rpms you needa shift at but I’m not sure if you just listen to sound or look at rpms so I’d love to hear your opinion
You listen to the engine and watch the rpms. Always shift before red and don’t let the engine rev long. It’s kinda hard to explain it, hopefully that helps. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
A lot of people ain’t giving clear answers so ima say it u shift at 3k - 4K rpm’s for regular driving. I personally shift at 3k rpm’s
i just bought a g37 but i don’t know what trim it is, but it doesn’t have sport mode only manual mode, does that mean it’s a sport?
You put the shifter in manual mode and sport mode will pop up
Would this video also apply to the G35 manual mode or is it at all different?
It’s the same
Yes it’s the same. But I’ll make one for my G35 supporters. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
Yessssir it’s more fun too bro!!! But I waste more gas >_< some days I force myself not to use it ahaha. $50 dollars every other day
You do use a lot of gas but it’s worth it for the enjoyment 😂😂
Sheesh 50 dollars a day lmaooo 😊
@@erickvera2435Every other day haha 1-3 days at a time. For me it’s $40 out here in cali every 2-3 days Get me just around 200-210 miles but at 14.5mpg it chugs it. Worse than my co workers v8 gmc sierra.
Great tips. I will see how it works for me
Glad the video was helpful! Appreciate the support 💯💯
Do you need a cluch?
No
Yea it’s weird driving manual with no clutch ngl
Is that stock exhaust or aftermarket cuz it sounded nice
Thanks bro! I had a muffler delete and vibrant resonators.
When I first got my g35 I put it in manual mode and the shifter got stuck. Had a cheap mechanic get it unstuck n I been terrified to try it again😂😂would I need a new shifter assembly or what would be the main cause of that if u know
Tbh I don’t know bro 😂 but If I was you I would go get it checked out before you try it again. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
It sounds like it wasn’t a full shift and the clutch was stuck
This is exactly what I was looking for bro shit, u my Infiniti plug 😂
😂😂 appreciate your support bro 💯💯
How do yk when to shift n what u do when u stop at a red light
Keep it in gear ?
Don’t shift down as your stopping at a red light, it will do it for you. Save your valve body
I got like a year experience of driving my dads Hyundai but is it a bad idea to get a g37 for my first car. Not tryna wrap my self around a tree but wanna have some fun too
Just bought my first car today! Drove my dads old impala for about a year, and i bought a 2011 g37x today. Its pretty powerful and fun but not super scary if you get the x which mean awd
@@dofin3000 awesome, how much is ur insurance if u dont mind me asking
G37 would be a great first car. It’s not crazy fast so won’t spin out or nothing but has good performance for a n/a V6
@juiceboxer I am fortunate to have it on my dad's policy, so it's like 68 a month. But I've heard they can be quite expensive. I would recommend getting a vin to one and calling your company to get a quote
@@CarAdventuresWithReg Man I can afford it with higher insurance and gas but at the same time idk if I really wanna spend more if I don’t have to
When you getting the paddels we need a video with them great video
This
In due time. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
Where’s the best place to get them? I’ve been looking but all I find are the paddles…I know you need the trim pieces with them too for the paddle shifter cut outs
@@NateGCook Junkyard would be the best or if you can find a Infiniti junkyard would be great.
Thank you! Never knew😂
No problem bro 💯💯
My favorite mode to drive in great video bro 🤟🏾
Mines too 😂 thanks for watching bro 💯💯
why don’t you get paddle shifters installed
I should have
Wait so in D/S mode you don’t have to shift ?
No. That’s sport mode
My 2009 Base G37 Sedan won’t go into manual/Sport mode it’s gone into it 2x and won’t pop back up anyone know what I can do about it I’ve tried a few things or would I have to just change my whole Shifter ? Anyone please get back to me
Tbh I’m not sure I would take it in and checked out.
Clean the shifter and it’s contact points or get maxima paddles for $100 for cheap
@@Lechecake thank you so much brother I tried is this morning and it came on but went off after a few hours so ima try it again and if so I will get a new shifter 💯🙏🏽🙏🏽 Ur the goat 🐐
@@anthonycabrera9258it’s most likely the cluster I sent mine to get repaired for 300$ for that specifically and it came back installed yesterday and got manual mode back on my 06 g35 it used to pop up and disappear and go back into D mid drive or sometimes it wouldn’t even pop up so just look into forums I just know out of experience that issue has to do with the cluster
I would avoid transitioning between normal Drive mode and shift mode while moving. Come to a complete stop first. Better for transmission
Appreciate the advice bro 💯💯
I was going to ask about this how you do it
I finally made a vid. Hopefully this video helped. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
Yea I downshift around like 3 rpm .
That’s perfect
What year?
2012
It’s easy because it’s still automatic.
where did bro find this EMPTY ROAD😩😩😭😭
I be searching 😂😂😂 thanks for watching bro 💯💯
You baby shifting . Yu don’t gota shift that early . You got all the way until the red 😂 I use my manual mode all the time and wait until it gets high as I want then shift . Before the red tho
tiptronic is garbage juice… in any car, period. Get a stick bruh, the high ass rpms and timing looks ridiculous. Just get an actual dual clutch or a stick. Porsche, Alfa Romeo, VW, Audi, Volvo, etc… alotta companies that had tiptronic in the past stopped using them shtzz .. they suck! Only old Nissans like yours and Toyotas for example still stuck with that nonsense… DSGs use a flywheel, Tiptronic with the heavy ass torque converter.. of course you can’t shift down to 2 or 1, schtz clunky and can’t keep up with the gear, that’s why they got rid of the torque converter, even tuning the CVT sucks. DSGs and Manuals have their own oil cooler/filter and dont overheat easy like them automatics do, cus they don’t hold the torque when shifting, you are forced to learn how to drive! Automatics you dont do nothing but mash your foot on the gas pedal. I watched the video and i stopped cus the tiptronic is foolishness, even the little 600 sumthing power Infinitis out there… all still tiptronic/autos, pop and bang, and they cant corner bodyroll everywhere and can’t stop themselves.
No wonder why I fucked up my car🤣
😂
It'll rev match alot more and often when just in DS
Your right, it definitely does it a lot in sport mode. Thanks for watching bro 💯💯
