i feel like this sort of video with the research and testing and sourcing you'd expect from say, chasethebro would be INSANELY USEFUL. i'd like to know the rollcatches for dual great spear crouch poke (not by hitting them and scaring them but by making them panic as if you were going to hit them, then catching the roll). unfortunately, somehow no major ER youtuber has had this amazing idea. another roll catch for greatspear is to walk forward for about half/quarter of a second and then doing a basic light attack. it'll rollcatch to the back and the side and potentially in your face as well. there are probably way more which is where having a bunch of research, game knowledge, and outsourcing would help a ton. anyways, good video. alas i'll still have to stick to watching youtubers occasionally randomly accidentally teaching me a new rollcatch.
Cool thing you can do with the “swords dance” ash of waranother one is the “Impaling thrust” If you hit someone and they immediately roll back, if you buffer you ash of war button EG: L2 Like this R1 then buffer L2, if they roll back immediately, it will always catch
Its the opposite Rolling is much shorter in this game than DkS3, which make most weapon can catch up to your enemy easier This game have high threshold of passive poise & wonky poise damage, some ash of war can combo you to your death & equal to 1 shot Most attack & AoW allows you to take it & lets your roll out of it, unlike certain weapon in DkS3 where UGS R1 guaranteed 2 R1 if it hit, and dual curved sword & straight sword guarantees at least 2 chip damage before you can roll out of it
Brilliant video! But what can we do to counter gankers who’s use halberds to roll catch, i cal escape 1 persons roll catch to immediately be caught by the phantom.
@@Drunk_Souls Really idk I thought you had to try to reaction roll, but if you get hit and then hit stun and try to roll into them, the gugs tracking is so good they can hit you unless they are bad and wiff. For the jumping I mean like chaining jump l1s power stance straight swords.

You can roll-catch someone rolling sideways to get around you with a running R2 or a stationary R2

The trick is to go aggro. Turn around and hit them instead of trying to escape.

It is when your attack catches the opponent right between their rolls. Yes you can do it. It is harder with latency though.

Rolling into it is actually safer than backrolling.
