After negotiating the Treaty of Versailles following WWI, Woodrow Wilson had to return to the United States and face Henry Cabot Lodge and the U.S. Senate. According to the Constitution, all treaties negotiated by the President have to be ratified by a 2/3 vote of the Senate. Woodrow Wilson failed to win the Senate's approval primarily because of his own inflexibility in dealing with the Senate. The United States' refusal to ratify the Treaty was one of the reasons for the overall failure of the Treaty of Versailles.

I have to give you credit because this is the most comprehensive video I have seen on this subject. However, you didn't mention anything about the Covenant of the League being different from what Wilson originally proposed in Paris. I would argue that it was no longer his "baby" since the French and British had their way with it. And how could this be a partisan issue when Taft, former President and prominent Republican, supported the ratification of the Treaty? And the fact that Wilson believed that the inclusion of Article X in the Covenant was absolutely necessary for the League to succeed? Moreover, he described the obligation implied in Article X as a moral one and not legally binding, insisting that Congress still had final say in whether the US went to war or not. And what about Wilson's stroke right in the midst of his fight for ratification?? Being an idiot and being mentally impaired by a severe stroke are not one in the same. All that being said, I enjoyed the video and thank you for posting!

In a nutshell, after a Morone doctrine, President Wilson tried to change America's foreign policy for the first time. Form being isolationist, he pledged to involve the USA in global affairs and politics by actively participating in the politics of the aftermath of WW1. However, unfortunately, the senate was dominated by the Republicans. The first criticism of them was on Article 10 of the League of Nations, which made it mandatory for the participant countries to work together to secure the sovereignty of others. This, according to the Republicans was a compromise on their sovereignty and the opposition leader pointed 14 reservations from the treaty. Because of Wilson's uncompromisable attitude, the USA could not be part of the League of Nations.

Why did the toad dislike the frog.... Bc he was always jumping to conclusions. That and he fucked his lillypad in the pun hole. Like a bitch frog. ...this is precisely why I don't ever enjoy doing anything I think up on my own and take it upon myself to do by my very own esteem. Why not just be a good yes mate when the request manifests and then offer the only good that a man can bring ...his good word . And a couple lilly frogs, perhaps for good . That is 🐸x's 2 ok 🫠🤔🤨😉. I appreciate what you're doing here, but I have a few problems.
    1. You're too loud. Its ok to be passionate about what you do, but don't yell at the camera.
    2. Don't use heavy metal music. It doesn't fit at all and is distracting from the info you are trying to present while it plays.
