One small tip for you is to get snow chains.. I bought a set to my Tesla on Tesla shop in app just in case getting stucked in deeper snow. I've already tried my Model 3 Highland LR in two snowstorms and it is insanely good both driving in crappy road conditions and to fight deep snow. But I know from living in a country with sometimes heavy winter that chains can come in handy. It's very easy to come out just slightly beside the road and then you are helplessly stucked. Chains often help you out of that predicament. Especially when help is far away. And also an ice scraper with a brush is nice to have so you don't have to scrape the car and windows with your gloves. That gets so cold and wet. Getting off most of ice and snow preserves a lot of battery while preheating the car. Thanks for another splendid video showing how easy it is to live outdoors when owning a Tesla.
So, here is my takeaway, always plan for the worse. So at the bare minimum, I would’ve thought you would’ve bought some snow melt, and a traction blanket, and winter tires is a must if you’re going to be in a camping situation. The other thing is you didn’t think you would need an ice scraper and some deicing fluid? Those things I would’ve thought would be the minimum of items you would bring on a camping trip, particularly in the winter, and those shoes you had on, that ain’t gonna cut it at all in snow that high. So there’s one other thing you can try if your tires are stuck, and you need a spray bottle to do it, try spraying some windshield wiper fluid on the tires and that will help freed them from the ice and the person who was helping you was absolutely right, be careful on the throttle, gentle throttle, do not use slip mode, and make sure your wheels are straight before you apply any throttle, and that is a constant whether you’re going backwards or forward. Capeesh. Cheers 🥂
Although getting stuck is inevitable, in certain conditions, however is always good to consider to get a set of snow tires which really makes a big difference in traction. Thanks for your videos, God bless you!
For sure, these Falken Wildpeaks are 3 Peak graded. I think next time I will air down and use my recovery boards when I am in a pickle! Thanks for being here and watching
I highly recommend getting some traction pads. Would help you get some initial traction. Then use slip start and do not stop once you have momentum. I also recommend leaving the air suspension in low or normal during the night and then raise it when you are going to drive. This way less snow gets jammed underneath :)
Hello from Vancouver, Washington! Glad you got unstuck. If you need a safe place to park in Vancouver my driveway is open and you can use my Tesla charger.
All tesla have fuel ⛽️ efficiency tires 🛞 that are like plastic to make them low rolling resistance. Get a all season or snow ❄️ some tesla owner own a snow tire with rim for winter time and change them out
Hey! Thanks for watching, those are Falken All-Terrain Winter and Snow graded. I just kept getting high centered because of the sheer amount of snow, fun though!
Dude I got stuck in deep snow this weekend and I was just watching my battery percentage drop. I got down to 10% by the time I was out. Terrifying. Glad you got out!
@@EverydaySandro Well, I'm sure you now know too not to travel in deep snow without snow chains for your tires. I'm glad you made it out of there alive! ... but if I were your girlfriend, we'd be getting a divorce !!! 🤣It would be interesting to get your thoughts on the upcoming Rivian R2 and their Camp & Kitchen option.
I wonder if overnighting on the lowest suspension would’ve been better, then in the morning you could jack it up and you’d have some spare clearance to get over the bump of snow under the car.
Curious to know, how do your Tesla smell after cooking? I know teslas have hospital grade filters for like no reason lol but I’m curious to know does your ac smell?
It's all fun and games until a grizzly shows up for Portland cheese steaks! 😅😅😅 Get some all weather Nokian tires and you won't have to deal with getting stuck very often and don't use slip start mode in the snow. I've driven up hills in heavy snow with the Nokians on my MXs with no problem.
