It's so beautiful in the fall, which is when I went. I also portaged my board to the other side of the waterfall, which is definitely worth checking out.
Yes! Fall is a great time to check out Rockwood and explore in general. The fall colours and the smells! 🥰 Oooh, good tip on portaging the waterfall. Are you talking about the one by the ruins vs closer to the beach?
This paddle was packed full of neat things to see and I was so surprised to see the raccoon (and worried at first!). Jumping from the rock wall to my paddle board was a little scary but exhilarating. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow ur really brave for climbing that rock and getting that close to the raccoon. I was really impressed when u jumped back on ur board. Ur definitely a pro cuz I would have splashed into the water like Shamu 😂 U make it look so easy. I tried my new paddle board for the first time last weekend and boy is it difficult for me to stand up on it. Gotta work on my core. Thanks for the great and informative video 👍🏼💕✌🏻
It was pretty crazy but so much fun! My board floated away on me to the length of the leash; I thought I was going for a dip when the racoon came over to the ledge! lol So much excitement for such a small place! It's all about practice! I wasn't always this good with balance on my board. I think what really helped me was playing around to find the balancing points and work on my balance on a calm day just off the beach. Thanks for watching and for your support!
Oh my goodness I was so close to it and didn't even realize until I pulled away from the rock cliff. But i had to go back in to capture it! lol The racoon shocked me too 😆 Great location with so much to see!
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment, John! All your lakes must be frozen in Northern Alberta right now! You’ll be out in your board soon; summer is always just around the corner 🙌🏼 We haven’t had much of a winter this year in southern Ontario. I miss seeing all the neat ice!
just started following your 'adventuuuures'!! have you ever paddled the Thames river in London, Ont? I live a 5 min walk from the river and would love to do this but I've never paddled before and don't know what Id be in for....how would I even start?
Thanks so much for coming along and for the support! I have not paddled the Thames river in London, Ontario but I do know that its super shallow this time of year and not great for SUP. My friend from the area said there are deeper spots you can do on the Thames in Delware just outside of London. Similar to some other Ontario rivers they are best to do in the spring time when the water is higher. However you often need cold water gear in the spring time and for sure a vest pfd and a quick release belt/leash. I don't think its super crazy enough for a helmet. Plus river paddles you need a put in and a pull out as you go with the flow of the river. Next weekends adventure is from the Grand River where we put in at a location and pulled out at another. I hope this was helpful!

That was funny watching you getting a peek at the raccoon. ❤
Nice job getting back on your bored without falling in!

God I love this place so much! I’ve been there a few months ago. It’s impressive.
It really is a great spot to explore! Did you do any hikes when you went a few months ago?
Such cute little ears!! I would love to paddle there on a misty morning 🤩
Right?! Totally caught me off guard to see a racoon in the middle of the rock wall! A misty morning paddle here would be super cool!
Es una pasada me gustan mucho los sitios este año empecé con sup es una pasada 🏄🏼♀️
¡Muchas gracias! ¡Me alegro de que estés disfrutando de SUP y del canal! 🤙🏼
My favourite part is those barn swallows!
There was so many of them! It was beautiful to see their nests and the young in them!

Great video. You make me want to jump on my paddle board. Too bad it’s March in Northern Alberta.

I have to stop watching your videos: they make me homesick😢
You’ll have to come back for a visit soon! 🙌🏼

that raccoon was pissed! 🤩
lol 😆 I honestly thought he might need help. Turns out he wasn’t pleased I interrupted his nap! 😅
I went there today and I went on a canoe … almost died
Oh no! What happened?
