Seems that all the information that I have read in trying to decide on an operation or radiation that both path lead to same result. Had been in past that taking out the Prostrate was the best solution specifically for men in good health or below 60 years. Now, from what I see radiation seems a better choice as technology in radiation treatment has significantly improved. Tough choice, either solution results in side effects but living longer is still significantly better. Thanks to all the people doing the research and improving the standard of life after Prostrate Cancer! I will need to decide which way in two weeks, radiation seems the best solution for me, presently, lol.

Side effects of MRILinac MRIdian are considerably less than CT based Cyberknife and especially surgery. The PACE trial shows 47% chance of needing to wearing a pee pad compared to SBRT of 4.5% after 2 years and that wasn’t even talking about MRIdian

My MRI raised the possibility of ECE (cancer slipping outside the gland into neighboring prostatic tissue/fat but not organs/lymph nodes, seminal vesicle, bones etc) and I’m wondering if that might lend itself to radiation rather than surgery. Positive margins is a problem with RP and I think the radiation oncologist is able to adjust the beam to account for the info from the improved 3TMRI.
    Thoughts?

They can treat other areas with MRIdian SBRT because they are tracking the cancer or soft tissue since no marker are used. They just need a target

For localized, small tumor of less than 10 mm and non metastasized prostate cancer which treatment is more effective? Is radiation better?

Yes, there is rarely a need to do surgery anymore. Consult with someone like Mark Sholz, an independent oncologist

I had my prostatectomy fully knowing about the sexual side effects. My quality of life is poor because of the sexual side effects. This is one disease that you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t.
