    Fantastic help here. I've worked so much on correct technique that my swing has slowed down and the ball doesn't explode of the face like it used to. It's like my ball would have a second gear in the air with nothing but carry when I was good. I realize now my work to have "effortless power" has reduced my swing speed in the exchange, so I'm going to work on this today at making a much faster transition while letting the club drop down into the slot. You seem to be a great teacher. thanks so much.

    Very clear explaination. Uin ypur recent video u r talking about tilt n turn. I found it hard to time out the movement. It show that during backswing first v should do is tilting the lead bum n than turn. In this vid i found it easier to implement. Ot seem that both lead n trail bum move together. Is it ok if i hv those kind of feeling???

    Good stuff Jonathan, this is a good one for me, I am searching for that extra distance that I probably have in me. I have consistent contact and solid fundamentals I don't seem to hit the ball as far as I think I should on all the clubs. Probably a victim of being taught to swing with moderate tempo and under control for too long as a junior and never really learned to unleash the power of the turn.

    I really like the way you explain things! The "smooth" part sounds very interesting, maybe that can help my center face contact and not a glancing blow. Can you do a video on the "smooth" part of the swing?

    Thanks again Jonathan. Another winner! May I ask what sort of additional speed you see (or might expect to see) from average golfer/students who are able to incorporate the correct movements in their swing? Regards Ian

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  3 года назад +1

      Hi Ian, it is totally dependent of the speed of the transition. I have some students getting 4-5 mph of extra club speed and others not seeing much but getting more control over the club and thus a better ball speed.

    Great video as usual, thanks. So what I understand from this video is that to 'be in the slot' you dont need to move the right shoulder down intentionally, making 'the squat move' is all you need? is that right?. You also said that you have another video where you talk about the right shoulder, what would be the difference between this actual video (where I see the right shoulder stays passive and do nothing) and the other video?. thanks.

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  4 года назад

      The trail shoulder is not passive, it moves down as the hips are driven around the downswing. The shoulders and hips are separate systems which work synchronised with one another.

    Hi Jonathan great video , I was wondering about speeding the transition you suggest in relation to Jack Nicklaus advise to make the transition as slow as possible. Could you solve the contradiction ?

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  3 года назад +1

      It is a question of how you apply pressure to the handle during your transition. If your body is not moving dynamically which is the case for most amateur players then your arms can‘t move quickly either and the feeling of slowing everything down is probably the way to go. If you move your body dynamically you will be able to load the shaft and apply pressure to the handle in the transition, creating more base speed in the release position and hence more head speed.

  • @jacobr4558
    @jacobr4558 3 года назад +1

    So you have to stall for your release? Aren't you already spun out by impact?

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  3 года назад

      Try not to think of your hips and shoulders being connected but instead yours hips acting like a door you must open to allow your shoulders to go/turn through.

    It took many years for the teachers to truly figure out the inner working of the golf swing.
    It boggles my mind that it took so many years to figure out. I am greatful for the simple explanation you have come up with. There is no way to explain it any easier. Fantastic,
    natural video presentation of the UTMOST importance. Forever indebted.Thank you.

      @@AndrewDCDrummond You are correct, Hogan was clear - this leg action is the most important part of the swing.
      I am 58 years old, studied and worked at learning golf most of my life and NEVER learned the fundamental body motion.
      It wasn't until 6 months ago, when I found this site. Based on this video and others like it, I can now swing properly,
      my short game is DEAD ON, putting is fantastic because of feeling in the legs, score has dropped, etc ....
      This is all because of the teaching of Jonathan Taylor. There is no other teacher I have found that comes close to
      the knowledge and teaching "clarity" of Jonathon. I can call this golf goal good now. Tony - out. Thanks again.

      tony reese here’s a video from someone who I think has a bit better grasp of the swing than Jonathon, that is the same idea as this video. Main difference is his posture is not as rigid, and neither was Hogan’s. Look for one of his other videos about older players: ruclips.net/video/o1Pet9IGWF4/видео.html

      Thank you so much for sharing this! Between GG, Milo and Jonathan Taylor .... they have explicitly explained the golf secret.
      With the utmost respect and appreciation to you Andrew, I have to give Jonathon Taylor ALL the credit in my
      individual case. Milo and GG influenced me in this direction .... but it was Jonathan Taylor's "clarity" that sealed the deal.
      The comments I write are coming from the "deepest excitement, respect and admiration" to those trying to help me and others to swing a golf club properly.
