In this process of becoming the LOP, we must acknowledge that Mr. Rahul Gandhi has earned this position through very hard work. It was not bestowed upon him as a gift because of his name alone.
Wishing him the best. We Indians need a functioning democracy, where even the opposition parties are respected as they do represent a section of the country’s citizens. Their voices matter.
Hope the present Parliament will come back onto the tracks laid by the Constitution and not continue functioning with total disregard to it. The LOP has a major role in facilitating how the Parluament functions.
However with Mr. Om Birla back as the Speaker of the Loksabha, it will not be easy.
We can look forward to some interesting times. I keep my fingers crossed and hope that better civic sense prevails among all our elected representatives. And that they will bear in mind our issues, our problems and work for us.
The combined opposition just does not represent a section of the people but a majority of the people (the ruling party represents less than 50 pc of the electorate.)

The LoP in the lower house is a tough job. Whoever holds it will have to be thoroughly versed in the working of the lower house or Lok Sabha. But as has been pointed in many of the media debates over the last 24 hours, it is not a Constitutional position. Yes the post carries with it certain privileges and perks of office. The recognition awarded to it is equivalent to that of a cabinet minister, which in itself is not a Constitutional position.
PRIORITY OF LOP SHOULD BE CLEANISING AND REVAMPING OF INSTITUTIONS ECI, CBI, ED, NEET. REPLACEMENT OF RAJEEV KUMAR. TAKING UP THE LAWS PASSED WITHOUT DISCUSSION EARLIER FOR ANOTHER DISCUSSION AND PASS IN THE PARLIAMENT

Rahul Gandhi should form a shadow cabinet with Shadow ministers from other opposition parties ( INDIA ALLIANCE). These Shadow political ministers should have expert advisers who challenge Modis Ministers on each policy.

Rahul Gandhi should focus on youth the unemployment and encourage youth to get involved in politics. He must replace the old Congress leaders with young Congress leaders and infuse new blood and new ideas. Finally, he should not appease Muslims and caste votes to just get elected.
