The best interpretation of this music. I can't have enough. It's inspiring. I always pay attention to the face of the singers while singing and in this choir, they sing through their hearts.
I just wish that the many many youtube versions would acknowledge the work of James Agee. Some people might comfort from his sort of autobiography A Death In The Family.
What a truly splendid choir this is. I am ashamed to say I never knew the piece until tonight and to hear it for the first time performed so professionally and sensitively is a revelation. Thank you.
Have been listening to your work for a year or so, and there is no doubt, you are the best sounding choir I have heard in person or electronically. It is easy for some to be critics, but the intricate vocal blends says to me "talent, genius, and hard, hard work". Please find a way to the USA some day. You will be a great success.
Sure on this shining night Of star made shadows round, Kindness must watch for me This side the ground. The late year lies down the north. All is healed, all is health. High summer holds the earth. Hearts all whole. Sure on this shining night I weep for wonder wand'ring far alone Of shadows on the stars. James Agee

Dear Friends! This is a new performance of our beloved Sure on this Shining Night by Morten Lauridsen: ruclips.net/video/Z1RD5SQ3wEc/видео.html. This time we performed the piece with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. Enjoy!
Yes .this is definitely a different cast of people added ...and a different performance...than the one shown before from this creator...just saying...it's still Devine .. and it is still. straight from God.!!
very nice sound. I love your overall blend, musicality and interpretation. I wondered where your choir hailed from. Certain vowels sounded like you were not "english" speaking. Not bad ,just enough for a choral nerd to hear.
please rejoice at the fact that this country gained its self-declared independence in 1990. Until then the population spoke only Russian and very rarely Lithuanian.( edit: ..and very rarely English !!) So what you see here are the children of independence. I think they are doing absolutelty phantastic, the transparency of the sound in the enormous room is well recorded !!
6 years late, but I had the same thought. It’s really interesting as an English speaker to hear people for whole English is not their first language singing in English. Gives me a good perspective on how I might sound singing in another language to a native speaker of that language.
This choir could improve tenfold by memorizing their music and kicking out any member who sings vabrato or flat. Vabrato is NOT meant in a choir. EVER. Other than that it was pretty good. Keep up the good work.
I have played this over and over. So soothing.
This choir does great credit to James Agee, the poet, and Morten Lauridsen composer. They sing everything with such emotional intensity. I love it.
This 3rd gen Landsman applauds you for your musicianship & polished delivery !!! LOVE IT !
OMG SO beautiful !!! Christmas greetings from a 2nd generation Landsman here in the U.S. Thank you !!
Beautifully sung. Thank you.
The heavens will be ringing listening to this glorious song.Congratulations everybody including the pianist.

sweetly and subtly overwhelmed,

Adembenemend ontroerend. Knappe stap naar vergeestelijking van gevoelens.
Coro amador? Meus deus! Que belo trabalho!
a bit too slow. you can tell cuz the piano sounds more plodding than flowing. i know. i accompanied it.
That's really sweet, super nice, doesn't feel plodding to me at all! Where was it recorded? Best thing I've heard in a LONG time! Thank you!
It's a little slow. Not supposed to be a fast tempo, but trust me, I'm sure of this. It needs to flow. Too slow, no flow.
Tom McGee Dear Tom, it was recorded live at St. Catherine Church in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Dear Deborah, thank you very much for your remarks!
You have 100 to me!!!
Not the same video..huh...portal different time line
Is it a Mortem Lauridsen song?
yes
Yes, it is Morten Lauridsen based on one of my favorite poems
Is this a professional choir where the members are paid?

Elsa Mead that's a pretty ignorant comment..... Also its spelled "Vibrato". You should look up a Verdi chorus.
I think she was thinking of her vibrator. In any case it is the comment made by a non-musician "singer"
Elsa, get a grip darlin'
The choir is a good one, but the performance is too mechanical, without the ritardandi indicated by the composer in the fist two thirds of the piece.
