Is there something else to his tragedy? And yeah, after that loss against Gogeta he really became a descent guy and behaved descently when Goku met him on Vampa......

Broly is the embodiment of war.. a gentle giant who was abused horribly by his father, and when his father was killed.. broly felt sorrow.. not joy or rage.. just.. pain. Freiza awakened a nightmare of a monster within this gentle giant.

Exactly, but because Vegeta senior had to much pride to be outclassed by any other sayian, they give up to a really good asset to their army. Imagine Broly without trauma and being trained from an early age to harness his power, i really think him under Bardock would have been their salvation.
Which is why Frieza feared them.

What’s up bro
Goku turns SSJ after seeing Krillin die but he comes back. Vegeta becomes SSJ after everything he went through and felt olbliged as a Prince but then has a happy life with a wife and kids. Broly becomes SSJ after seeing his dad dead and to most likely never return...even though he accepts Gokus friendship, Broly had the biggest reason to ascend into SSJ than any other saiyan
That's why his ssj is the strongest one

It is not just that, actually. The REAL reason behind Broly's anomalous strength and his anomalous and very rapid growth of power over the course of the Movie, is that Broly is to the Saiyans, what Frieza is to the Frost Demons ..... a MUTANT of his own kind.
We have already seen what are the characteristics of the "mutants" in Dragonball: They are EXTREMELY more powerful and prodigious in fighting, than the "normal" exponents of their own kind, but on the other hand they have a VERY distorted mental and emotional balance. Lord Slug for example was a Namekian mutant, who on the one hand is strong enough to be considered a "Super Namekian", but on the other hand has a purely evil heart, due to his own mutation. The same goes for Frieza and her father towards the Frost Demons, while in the case of Kale and Broly, there seems to be more of a problem of lack of mental and emotional control, which pushes them to act as wild berserkers (perhaps a primordial genetic "memory" of the Saiyan's original primitive nature), in exchange for the immense power they possess.
That said, however, it must be considered that "mutants" are NOT necessarily irrecoverable cases: If supported by a correct "influence", a mutant may be able to control both its immense power and its own instincts. Kale demonstrated this in the Tournament of Power and it seems that Broly himself may also be "destined" for this path, since at the end of the Movie, Goku offered to train with him, also to help him gain control of the its strength. Conversely, Paragus INCITED Broly to violence and removed any possible "good" influence from him, in order to make him the perfect weapon for his revenge against the Saiyan royal family. Between one thing and the other then, it's no wonder then, if Broly in the Movie was as he was.

I think I know what makes Legendary SSJ different from normal, especially since we saw Broly use both.
Not only do you need to have such a freakish amount of power to even access it, you need to have a genuinely pure heart that was beaten and abused to the breaking point.
SSJ is a Saiyan's anger used to awaken an inner power.
LSSJ is a Saiyan's anxieties, sorrow, and rage beating the inner potential out of them.
You can even hear Broly's confused and scared screams after he transformed from just SSJ to LSSJ, like he's genuinely afraid of what he's become.
I'm honestly surprised that Broly didn't try running from Goku when he visited Vampa; not due to a fear of death, but a fear of being forced to turn into a mindless beast again.
Then again, he probably had time to let the adrenaline cool down and actually think to what Goku was trying to say to him during their fight.

When I first heard this theme I knew something terrible was about to happen, it sounded to terrifying especially in this context, and it sounds like Broly fully transforming is something terrifying and destructive which should never, EVER happen, as it should sound.

Undoubtedly if Broly wasn't exiled during the time Frieza destroyed planet Vegeta. I bet we would have been the first to achieve the Legendary Super Sayan.
