  • This is one spot that has to be in anybody’s wild swimming bucket list.
    There is something magical about the contrast of calmly floating letting the cold water lap over whilst being smack bang in the centre noisy, stressful major city. It’s definitely somewhere to try wherever you are from.

    Hi, I've seen your videos and I must say that they're spectacular. The sessions are great, the quality is fantastic... this channel is absolutely brilliant and you helped me a lot with the majority of my curiosities about swimming and scuba diving too, thank you so much. Anyway, I would like to make a suggestion (if it's not a problem): I'm convinced that you can add a really funny video on your channel to show us some of the funniest things happened while swimming, scuba diving or any other water sports, it can be something like a "oops and bloopers" compilation. For example, you could make a compilation of all of the times where you or your friends get "caught" on video while peeing in the water (my uncle relieved himself in a surfing session while he was waiting for a wave and that was hilarious, he always says there are 2 types of divers, surfers and swimmers: those who pee in the water and those who lie), you can also include those moments in the future videos just to keep having a bit of humour on your channel, you can use both old and new clips, what do you think? I know it sounds weird, but, for me, it's the funniest thing about divers and swimmers. When a swimmer pees in the water, I think he demonstrates to be someone who is not afraid of consequences or to be judged. I think it's something that can come out great! I'd be so so happy to watch it, let me know, have a great day!

      Hey Carlos. Thanks for your comment and suggestion and sorry for our super late reply! Funny you should suggest this... we are saving up some spectacular funny bloopers to create a compilation video one day :) so watch this space. And yes, when in the water, if you come across a warm patch, chances are there's a swimmer looking very pleased with themselves nearby haha!

      Infection from what?

      It's a river, so it has a steady constant flow of water passing through it. But there is tonnes of bird shit smeared all around the edges of the Serpentine; not so much in the swimming section though. It's very clean to swim in.

      @@sharukhkhan9242 Yes there is an outdoor shower right where the picture is being taken. I like to use it in the hot weather to cool down.

    What is the visibility like? Can you see the bottom clearly if you're in 1.5m to 2m deep water? And no wetsuits in the changing room...how does that rule affect anything?

    • @thewildswimstore
      @thewildswimstore  2 года назад

      Visibility it depends on the day. We’ve seen it super clear most days: you probably won’t see the bottom but you will see the reeds rising up. For the wetsuit: it’s mostly to be aware that if it’s in winter you’ll have to be changing outside: in the summer it’s less of an issue.

      @@thewildswimstore Great about the clear water ... sorry for the wetsuit question I meant why would that be a rule in the first place? Never heard of that before. How does a wetsuit in a changing room affect anything? Maybe some extra water on the floor after the swim I guess

      @@harry486 hi ah ok! so I’ve not been since they’ve redone the changing area. However it was an incredibly small area. Barely enough room to wriggle out of your trunks: getting a wetsuit on and off usually incorporates a neoprene dance. Plus also wetsuits do leave a bit of a puddle behind! Hope that helps!

    how deep is the swimming area

      Hi there! Apologies for the delay. I would say it’s approx 1.5m. In spring/summer you can swim outside of the white buoys, where I believe it gets a bit deeper.
