- In this video I compare two power microphones. The vintage Dynamike Plus CA-50 and the new K-PO NM-532 (AM SSB FM). Which one wins in your opinion?
The radio is a President McKinley EU version with its mic gain at 100%. The gain I change during the video is the individual gain from each microphone.
The receiver is a SDR radio (SDRplay) connected to my desk running Console V3.
I didn't bother to tune in sideband this time, my apologies.

Great 👍 video.
I think the KPO microphone had more clarity on FM and AM.
Both microphones sounded nice on single side band.
Yes, the K-PO frequency response was to me superior.
Although much less sensitive, a dynamic microphone is intended for closer speaking. It has an exceptionally high intelligibility, especially if you speak closely. They don't do that anymore. Both are ok. K-PO good for long-distance speaking, you can hear blowing into the microphone up close. The close-speaking Cobra is more convenient and lighter, the 9V battery is big and heavy.
Very good review comparison. The mics are pretty close in comparison but according to the graphs, the Dynamike mic is a tick or 2 higher. I would love it if you compared also the Astatic mic power mics to these mics. That would be great to see on the scopes.
75% is very good set
KPO is clearer and crisper...to my ear..... Thanks for this test very interesting.
