    I got to say, in retrospect, I enjoy the Shakespearean take on for, it helps him feel unique amongst other heroes

    Interesting how the first 2 movies tried maintaining Thor’s seriousness from the comics, yet he became more popular when he got all comedic in Ragnarok

      And lost all said popularity come Love and Thunder.

      Injecting seriousness doesn't automarically make a movie good. It should be engaging to watch.

      I would argue that point. Why do you feel he became more popular when he was turned into goofy, stupid, Thor? It was an ok movie, Ragnarok I mean, but it certainly wasn't a masterpiece and I still place the first Thor movie over it any day of the week.

    I don't even like the character, and waited for the film to come out on a disc, but it was and it is one of THE BEST entries in the MCU. The chemistry between Chris and Natalie, and all of the others - it's on another level. And Branagh as a director flexed his muscles like Ronnie Coleman with this one 😂

  • @Merylstreep1949
    @Merylstreep1949 4 месяца назад +6

    Don't forget that same year Chris was in Snow White and The Huntsman....I think the early MCU films hold up well because they weren't necessarily trying to create classics, something that makes films from the 30s n 40s still hold up too.
    From a golden summer where i had the means to see like 10 or more movies a week and was pretty gd awesome being able to do so

    This is one of the best MCU movies they have ever produced. It gave us the egotistical, frat boy Thor at the start who then goes on a true hero's journey till he finds his real self and matures into the person he needs to be .... and then Taika Waititi destroyed all that character development when he made Thor: Ragnarok, and finished the destruction of Thor with Love and Thunder. Phases 1-3 gave us the best MCU movies ever, I just wish they would go back to what made it so good in the first place.

    I really miss Phase 1 of the MCU. Movies like "Iron-Man 1 & 2", The Incredible Hulk," "The First Avenger ", and of course "Thor" hold up so well.
    Man! I love that first Captain America movie. When the pre-super serum Steve jumps on that fake grenade, all you need to know about Steve Rogers's character is summed up in that one scene.
    I've said it once, and I'll say it a million times, I wonder what the MCU would have been if it had stayed under Paramount Pictures?

    My only issue with this movie is he is humbled and proved worthy in a few days. I wish they could have shown him struggling to rise to greatness through helping the world, people, etc over a few months. Basically rock bottom to greatness without his powers, but with his heart. Show him develop compassion, confidence, and a purpose.
