I am taking my c-pap machine back and telling them to stuff it there ass. I hate it.
I can't possibly fall asleep with a CPAP. Even worse than sleep apnea. I hate it!
Same here, I wish doctors would focus less on CPAP and just admit that a sizable minority won't be able to use the device no matter what, and just be upfront about it. It should just be a given that they'd admit that these don't work for everybody and outline other options at the same time. Especially now that so many CPAP makers are including monitoring software that spies on people as they sleep.
Only thing I like about my CPAP is that I can wear it under my covers and I can breathe with less light hitting my eyes. But I keep waking up every couple of minutes a lot of the time. I can sometimes gets an hour or two but I'm usually waking up all the time.
I remember the supplier telling me to wear it even when I am awake so the insurance will cover it. Then when I spoke with the sleep doctor they said I was doing very well on the CPAP. I was so out of it talking with them that it only occurred to me later that it was probably being monitored during my waking usage of the machine and was giving them a false positive.
My appointments for the sleep doctor are now once a year because, I'm guessing, they know it isn't working and they probably don't want to see me and hear my complaints.
I tried my cpap for 3 months, I returned it today. If sleep apnea kills me, I had a good run. Crazy expensive even with insurance. Uncomfortable. Just a waste of time and money.
It sucks and they give it to you and think you’re going to be good I can’t fall asleep with air being shot down my throat
I've never heard of anyone dying from sleep apnea. However, you should probably control high blood pressure and maybe some heart condition using your cardiologist. Losing weight might help too.
I hate it. Sooo ANGRY they are making me wear it. I’m a very healthy muscular guy. No person can pass a sleep test. I tested just over the normal 10 %. Now I have to wear this the rest of my life or loose my job that I’ve been doing for 37 years.
I agree I also feel that doctors are getting paid to prescribed these things to people who don't need them
@@steveaird9347 I remember the supplier telling me to wear it even when I am awake so the insurance will cover it. Then when I spoke with the sleep doctor they said I was doing very well on the CPAP. What I really need is to force my insurance to do a proper sleep study. I had one night with a take home kit. From what I understand, this is simply not enough to properly diagnose sleep apnea - let alone what KIND of sleep apnea it is.
I waited 4 months for my CPAP machine and it's only day 2 since I received it. I tried to seep with this on, I felt like I was suffocating but ignored that sensation and fell asleep. I woke sometime and tore the machine off my face. I have the typical issues due to sleep apnea and had 4 tests done on my heart and I'm constantly sleepy but that machine needs to go away unless there's an adjustment..I have a nurse I could call but right now the thing is a nightmare..
*Weekend Update* I went from the full mask to the nose pillow and went back to the mask. The silicone on the nose pillow severely irritated my skin. I have made peace with the full mask, too bad it can't be properly cleaned but I can sleep with it on. I only sleep 5 hours which is the down side but it's a solid 5 hours. One problem I have is I'm constantly congested. I have set the humidity on '1' and my chest was full for 2 days. I turned off the humidity all together and that reduced the congestion but I still experience discomfort in my chest...wish I didn't need anything to sleep properly..
I am having major problems with my cpap machine. My Doctor told me I received the Cadillac of cpaps. The problem is if I’m sleepy and go to bed and put the machine on it’s pushing so much air down my throat that now I’m wide awake! I’ve tried to make this work so many times that when I finally go to sleep at 3 in the morning with the machine on I’m subconsciously pulling the mask off. When I wake up the machine is off my face. To me it’s very uncomfortable. I’m gonna keep trying as I have talked to people who love it and say they get the best sleep. All I can tell my Dr. Is I’m not giving up and continue to try to make it work. I am on the border of sleep apnea according to my sleep study and don’t snore when I sleep but my Dr. Ordered one for me anyway.
I am in exactly your situation. The CPAP is blowin to much air and ruins any level of drowsiness I have had. It's filling my lungs to much. I am really giving it an effort night after night to no avail. I am borderline sleep apnea just like you. I really want to be like those people who benefit from the machine. A friend told me even his memory improved! I'm really getting frustrated.
I’m in the exact same situation except I suffer from panic attacks as well.
I have tried turning the pressure down as low as the machine will go (4.0) both on the high and low ends, but even that isn’t working. When I put it on it initially starts gentle, but then it hits 4.0 and it’s just too much pressure and air at once, causing an immediate panic attack.
Anyone come up with any solutions?
Same boat here. I turned the pressure down to 10 from 20 but I still wake up yanking the thing off my face. I feel worse now than I did two months ago when I started it.
Forcing air make you Super Charged like a Race car
Does your machine have the ramp option? It lowers the pressure and increases it as time goes by during the night.
The cpap makes me snore lol, even when I’m awake. I feel the air run through the collapse and then boom the snore
That was a big nothing burger.

I have a sleep test scheduled for next week......I'll take the sleep test but, I have to be honest, I'm not crazy about this machine. I'll try it if the insurance covers it...if not then I won't get one. I don't think I will like it either way
Where the muscles are collapsing no doctor has ever asked me that question.
It’s ok, your machine doesn’t like you either.
I think mine really doesn't.
My CPAP made me too dizzy its unbearable . Sometimes nasal surgery is needed
I don't believe my Air way is collapsing at all
"What if I don't like my CPAP machine?" You make your own choice about whether to use it or not. If you don't like it, don't use it.
They’re just giving options 🙂
Yeah, but for some people, if you just “don’t use it” then you could end up dead. I hate my cpap machine, like truly HATE it. If I had the option to try something else that would give me the same benefit as using a cpap, I’d do it in a heartbeat. In fact, I’m going to start doing some research on this procedure tomorrow. I’m glad to know this option is out there.
Nope! Not if you won’t to get your DOT card.
If I don't use it insurance won't pay for the stupid thing
@@apostatelizzy6836they are not putting anything side my body that could malfunction no thank you
She has vocal fry, how annoying.
Your post is annoying… stop bitching Karen… you don’t like it don’t watch it. It’s that simple.
I am a cpap user and I stop for a long time do you have any tips for me
What is the treatment for sounding like a frog like this woman does?
Why induce sleep apnea using drugs when the goal is to try and sleep normally/naturally.
The point of it is to see what's going on as there's different ways in which the muscles can relax and block the airway. Unless, you're used to falling asleep with a large tube stuck down your throat. Most people can't relax enough to handle that without being too awake to get an accurate indication of the precise problem.
Glad she can.
