I used to watch this series with her all the time back in 1999 and it was great. I tell you she came across as one of the most genuine hosts that I have seen in a long time.
Thank you for this video. I worked in Mackinac Island as a college student and frequently rode my bike past this house. It was always a favorite! Now I live on the east coast and don’t get to experience the magic of Mackinac very often. It is absolutely my favorite place on earth!
Never had the chance to view this Samantha Brown "Great Vacation Homes" episode on cable -- thanks for uploading! The film Somewhere in Time informed me (and lots of people living outside of Michigan) about Mackinac Island.
Whoever thought this place( God) up knew what he was doing I have visited numerous times it gets more breathtaking each time no cars should be one of the wonders in the world
Your screen and the signs say Mackinac Island; you said Mackinaw Island, how come? Isn't it Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Bridge but Mackinac Island? Please verify and inform viewers. Thanks.
Adrian Dang actually everything is spelled Mackinac, including the bridge, straits and island, except for Mackinaw City and all are pronounced Mackinaw.
I spend my summers working as a musician on the island. In the winter most people do construction and painting and remodeling. I love living and working on this island! It's way more beautiful in person!
Unfortunately she didn't do her research or should I say enough research on the car situation. there were cars back in the 1800s and then banned then brought back again then banned again in the late 1960s and since then only bicycles and horse and carriage to this day

Agreed..Still love to watch her Places to Love series on PBS.
I miss early Travel Channel, I miss Samantha. I used to want to be her so bad. She knows how good she had it.
I do also! I loved her show and her wit. She always had me giggling!

I wonder if travel channel will ever have a classic episode, or a vintage episode spot in their app, or demand channel.
love Sammi Brown

I would LOVE to live on this island ! I don't need anything this fancy. How do the people make a living in the winter? I wish I knew!!!!

Could you start your own Travel Channel? The current network that goes by that name has nothing to do with travel. It is all about haunted houses.
Cute, cute, cute...
It must be super expensive to stay there.
I spend my summers working here. It is pretty expensive to stay on the island.
