I saw this movie when I was 8 when my sister borrowed a library DVD of it. I thought it was such a remarkable movie. And now as a 24 year old I still feel the same. Loved this and ‘Rope’.
This is still my favorite Hitchcock film and some of Stewart's best work. Man he's good at making any discussion interesting. Just always relatable and charming. The easy going type of guy you want to be!
I just came from watching your podcast about Rosemary Baby and I'm happy that you guys did an edition for Rear Window, definitely one of my favorite movies. I first saw both movies when I was a teenager and I always felt kind of embarrassed about watching such old movies but there was something so fascinating about watching something so different, like time travel. So it's great to see people like you guys sitting down and talking about such memorable movies like these, thank you!
Gonna take some credit for this one because you haven't stopped bringing it up since you read it out on my top 4 a few weeks ago! Great episode love this flick!
I don’t know anybody in person that’s even seen this so it’s wild to find guys around my age that have not only seen it but love it to. That’s why I always loved James Rolfe because he was into older movies like this. To me the alleyway makes the whole movie, it’s interesting that you guys talked about that. This is where I almost lose my shit talking about this. If Miss Torso isn’t in love with any of those men and has a boyfriend why are they in her apartment at that time of the night. Maybe Jeff doesn’t want to have a girlfriend that every time he turns his back she has strange men in her apartment. I haven’t seen all of his movies, but I’ve seen quite a few of them and they’re all gorgeous. What’s the best place to see some of his movies there aren’t as well known like Dial M for murder, strangers on train etc. I want to see Rope because I guess it’s kinda like that movie 1917 where it’s one continuous shot. I’m 43 so I’m assuming I got at least 10 years on both you guys but it’s awesome finding other guys that aren’t 70 that have seen some of these older movies. My 17 year old son actually shocked me about a year ago when I was in his room and for whatever reason I noticed he had on vinyl the soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange. I almost fell over because again most guys my age have never seen that or even heard of it and he’s 17. His mother and me are divorced and I know there’s no way in hell he heard about that movie from her. I asked him why he has that and he said like the movie. But anyway, Ive found a new place where I can hear people talk about these movies.
Just recently rewatched this. Lisa and Jeff's relationship does not hold up at all and can sometimes take me out of the movie. Jeff treats her like a one night stand or friend with benefits, but she loves him like a husband.

Yes! This is Hitchcock's best work & has always been my favorite! Jimmy Stewart is absolutely amazing!
100%!
As David Lynch puts it, there’s just something so “cozy” about Rear Window!

This was the first Hitchcock film I saw. It still might be my favorite. North by Northwest is a close second
