The other thing people don’t seem to realize that during that time all their pay was probably still being pooled and the profits from albums may not have been enough to sustain the group’s activities so tv appearances were necessary and the best person with a big appealing comedic personality is Heechul. It really is nice to hear him sing solos. I first heard him sing with Lee Hong Ki and I became a fan of Shinee because of Heechul. I love their voices and wish them God’s blessing and strength as they deal with the loss of their brother.
SM is known for not splitting income for appearances of individual members among the team. And even if there are exceptions in the future, super junior was not one of them-- individual appearances are individual pay alone

I think some of the styles of songs that SUJU have done didn't always quite work with his voice. He loves doing that indie style with a bit of a growl to it, it's really quite a unique and beautiful sound. I mean, we know he's not crazy about all the dancing and such, I just really think the rock/trot/indie scene just works better with his particular voice type. He's done plenty of beautiful things with SUJU, but when he sings this style it's so clear that he's in his true element.

by the way for the people that don't know Jung Mo, he was a member of a rock band called TRAX, also he appeared with heechul in multiple shows, like this, and there was another episode of Immortal songs, where Zhoumi came too, also a fun dating show that heechul mc but one episode he came as a guest with jungmo, they made an album with each others I think, he is a close friend to heechul, Also, SM had plans for Heechul to start in a rock band, before Suju with this dude Jungmo, and they were gonna put Heechul as a leader vocalist for the rock band, and that the band was gonna sing alternative rock songs, but He rebelled against the entire management team and turned the shit upside down, because he wanted to sing hard rock. the company got mad, and they told him he needs to write a formal apology, heechul sent them a letter saying "I do not know what I did wrong but I'm writing this because you guys told me I have to." lmao the savage, then the company got more mad, they couldn't fire him because he was handsome and had lots of potential, but they removed him from the project, and then Heechul got mad even more the management team told him do you want to go back to your home town he said the women that told him so. Well it will be good to visit my hometown lmao. They thought like he gonna ask for forgiveness and Yunho and Jungmo followed him to convince him to get back and apologize.
