    Broncos fan here. Wish Russ nothing but the best. I think he did great for the situation he was put in. He wasn't a scheme fit for Payton, and yet still balled out. If someone will build a team around HIM, I think he's a top 10 quarterback. His numbers were top 10 for a coach and team who DIDN'T do him any favors.

      Rent Russ on the cheap for a year or two. Maybe Russ can take the Steelers farther; the Steelers have a strong defense, good running game, very good to great tight end, and couple of receivers that if they are focused could be great. The problem arises if he gets to the divisional or better, Do you give him the long term contract? Cost Seattle at 26 million and Denver at 85 million...Do the Steelers want to be next? Russ stopped being: Let Russ Cook, Russ, and went back boring Russ that only threw for 204 ypg, but won over 50% last year and was in every game.

What we do have is a solid roster with plenty of talent, what we need is competent QB play. Russ is a massive upgrade over Kenny right now and if it's on the cards they'll do it. • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican 8 месяцев назад

      This isn’t true at all. Any narrative that Russ wasn’t a leader on and off the field and didn’t carry the Seahawks is a big truckload of bullsh!t. He lost his way a bit either way the Hollywood stuff, but he can lead.
      Richard Sherman and the LoB are not leaders. They seek all of the glory for themselves. The LoB wanted everyone to THINK they were the reason for those SBs but they weren’t.
      Russ dragged that team into the playoffs with no multiple years in which they were not good enough and would have lost double-digits without him, including 2015, with half the LoB defense injured, no Beast Mode, and other injuries on offense.
      Russ was certainly the reason the Seahawks looked formidable from 2026 to 2030, because they had no defense, and most of Pete Carroll’s draft picks were garbage!
      Besides Tyler Lockett, Dak Metcalf, Frank Clark, and Michael Dickson, what notable players did the Seahawks draft between 2014 and 2021? Chris Carson was good when healthy, but he couldn’t stay healthy.
      If Russ wasn’t a good leader, he never would have started as a true rookie and nearly led the Seahawks to a SB that season. He wouldn’t have led the Seahawks to back-to-back SBs.
      Russ is a good leader but he is also a flawed one. He has made some mistakes, but there are no domestic violence issues, no DUIs, no PEDs, no altercations, no child abuse, no thefts, no petulant behavior either reporters, teammates, or coaches, and no rumors of s3xual misconduct.
      Right now, so can think of star players (some of them QBs) who have had those incidents. Why are people trying to erase Russ’s history and gaslight his fans and supporters?

      Highly overrated. He and another current coach have roughly the same tenure in the league, similar win-loss records, a whole bunch of playoff flameouts, and just one Super Bowl appearance each despite many seasons with a future Hall of Fame quarterback. For all intents and purposes, Sean Payton is Mike McCarthy.

The broncos cut him because it was pay him 80 or pay him 125. Clearly you just cut bait and move on. The Steelers tho, if they can get him for two years 5 milly plus some incentives if he is a baller, have another solid draft this year they are set up for a super bowl in 2025 with cheap Russ who's trying to get a deal like flaco in 2012. Seems like a good move for the Steelers or the falcons or the Vikings too really.

It’s been shiwn that Kenny has the talent to get the job done but he’s just not quite ready to be in that spot. Russ can really show him how to play consistently at the NFL level.
