It's not a good video unfortunately, like many of these installation videos; the diverter is WAY too high to function as intended.

@@oldbridgemaker2094 You can install that diverter anywhere you want as long as it’s above the container you’re running the hose to!

@@dannyprice5219 Not so. The rain barrel will fill for sure, but it'll keep filling until it overflows. That device is designed to allow the rain barrel to fill and then when it's filled; direct the excess water down the downspout. This will just overflow forever, possibly flooding his basement. (if he has one)

Your barrel is going to overflow because you placed it above the level of the barrel.
