Seems like everybody wants to cut the downspout in place I’ve discovered after you get your layout marks just take the downspout off and use a power miter box with a decent tooth blade in it to cut the downspout it cuts it perfectly and reinstall it . just my 2 cents . I like your tank stands.Nice video! Explained very well!
I literally use your video to remember which side the toggle opens when the toggle is facing left or right lol. I have to flip mine a few times a year but forget which is which so I bring up your video as a reminder
Awesome video, this was super helpful :) Just curious, are you able to leave a comment back with the type of hose adapters you used or at least tell me where I can pick some up ? Im having the hardest time finding one that will work for my 275 gallon totes.
I got all my fittings at a local ag sprayer shop. Here’s an Amazon link that will has something quicker and less parts: www.amazon.com/275-330-Adapter-Connector-Replacement-Fitting/dp/B08ML3HXWZ/ref=asc_df_B08ML3HXWZ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532859556718&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15057594187669056739&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1025182&hvtargid=pla-1369726214121&psc=1
Idea for next time. Looks like you spray painted the whole container black. Put a piece of masking tape from top to bottom on front or side, then Paint, then peel off tape. Leave a unpainted strip to see exact water level.
Get really big tanks :) since it only rains so few times per year; you will need to catch all the rainwater you need to get you through until the next rainstorm. It can and is being done :) No need to move.
Just recently I ordered this downspout diverter to hook up with my IBC tank. I was thinking of setting up like yours! :) I'm new to this, so I'm glad to have found your video!
@@LancoAmish Sir, I made it like yours and works fine with today's first rain. The only issue is that I didn't place any filter to filter out the weeds/grass from the roof that birds had on it. What is the solution for a filter? How can I place it in this set up?
Very helpful video. And thee installment is very professionally done and Dosent take away from the beauty of the home. My only question is when I install mine for the garden due to indiana not receiving natural rain like in past years will the bleach I treat thee tanks with hurt or stun my garden plants? Tomatoes ..cucumbers peppers beans and so on.??
Do an internet search on the subject. A lot of municipal water is chlorinated and people use that on gardens etc. Others say their plants don’t do well. I haven’t had much of a problem with algae growth with the tanks painted black and I haven’t chlorinated after the first summer.
Thanks for watching. The paint is holding up pretty well. It’s a tough environment to hold up looking new with expansion and contraction in the plastic. If I see a bad spot I just spray it again. I used Krylon paint for plastic. I’ve had really good luck with that on plastic shutters also.
@@LancoAmish I just installed the same diverter and it works really well. I didn't paint or cover mine. Probably going to regret it this summer. Oh well I figure if I have trouble with algae I will paint if next spring. I am going to try the bleach and hopefully that will help some. Thanks for the video. I also really like your stand you made. I thought I had my concrete blocks level but when the tote filled up the back ones sunk lower than the others. Kind of leaning backwards.

wow...millions of acres cut down for farming as far as the eye can see.. Only a few patches of trees left scattered here and there. .no wonder this planet is in so much trouble.
Lancaster has been farmed for literally hundreds of years. It hasn’t been forested since before colonial times. I am going to ask you a question and if you can’t honestly answer it then delete your comment and stay off my channel..Name the foods you have eaten in the past 3 days….Go…

Really nice video. I appreciate the update as well, most people just show how to install, not how it wound up working out!

How did you paint it? With spray? What kind of paint?
I think it was Krylon spray paint. The type made for spraying on plastic.

We are thoroughly enjoying it and our retirement. Thanks for asking. 🙂
where does the over flow water go near the building?
Thanks for watching. There’s a diverter on the downspout and when the tank is near filled I switch it over to the downspout.
