Here's a metaphor for Ryan and his circuitry breaking every time Geoff saves. Think of it as the saving being an Electromagnetic Pulse, and the redstone as an electronic... cake shooter. If the machine is at the off state during the time of an EMP, it will work again. If it is on the on state, it breaks and you have to replace it (Except that redstone in creative is cheaper than the components to the machine in real life, and with the redstone, you just have to replace one piece) I think so.
